It was time for Alexandra's DADA lesson again. Snape had cancelled her lessons for the past two weeks, so her next one was early December.
"Hello, professor." She said, slinking into the potions lab."Miss Weasley." He said in greeting. "I hope you've been practicing."
"No, I haven't. Unless the Vulnera Sanentur spell counts. I did that one and it worked."
"Well done. Though I'm curious as to why you felt the need to use it. I haven't heard of any injuries that severe in the hospital wing." He looked at her, and she realised her mistake.
"Did I say I practiced your Vulnera Sanentur spell?" She laughed somewhat awkwardly. "I meant the stunning spell."
"And you used that for what?"
"Against... my dormmate. She wanted to know what sort of stuff I'd been learning so I showed her how to cast the spell." She said lying.
"Lying to your professor could be cause to deduct house points." Snape said.
"Good thing I'm not lying." She said.
"Knowing how to hide your memories is one thing, but your poker face sucks." He said.
"It's not my fault, I didn't have time to figure a proper lie."
"So, what really happened?"
"I'm sticking to my story. The truth could lose me a whole lot more house points than lying to a professor."
"Depends. I could deduct a hundred house points simply because you lied." He shrugged.
"You wouldn't."
"Try me." He challenged.
"Okay, say hypothetically, the true story involved the forbidden forest. How many points exactly would I lose for that?"
"It depends on your reasonings."
"Say hypothetically, I was curious?"
"If that's the true story, then as long as you weren't hurt, I suppose I could let it slide as long as you don't go in there again. It's forbidden for a reason."
"The question isn't whether you could, but whether you would?"
"Yes, I would."
"Okay, good. Because, say, the last time I was there, I passed these beautiful flowers and wanted to find them again. And on my journey- my very hypothetical journey- I came across a wounded unicorn and a hooded figure."
"A hooded figure?"
"A hypothetical hooded figure. A hypothetical me would have freaked out and run away."
"Okay." Snape nodded, interested.
"But of course, the guilt of not trying to help the hypothetical unicorn started weighing on a hypothetical me, so I would have run back to the unicorn. The hooded figure wouldn't have been there anymore, but the unicorn would have still been injured."
"Just how wounded was this... hypothetical unicorn?"
"On the verge of death wounded." She replied, sheepishly. "So, of course a hypothetical me would have used your Vulnera Sanentur spell to heal the unicorn which would have worked, and sat with the unicorn until she felt well enough to continue with her journey."
"Is it really a hypothetical situation?" He asked. Alexandra looked at him and groaned, knowing she couldn't lie.
"No. But you have to understand, the forbidden forest meant quiet. I only went the first time to get away from the twins. This time, I was there to see the flowers, but they basically disappeared." She tried to defend herself.
