Alexandra spent another three days in the hospital wing, and Hermione kept her promise in keeping her brothers away, refusing to let them past the door. She didn't do anything about Cedric though when he came to visit her second day, and had instead left the room to give them some privacy.
"Hello." He greeted. She simply stared straight ahead ignoring him. "Oh come on. You've been in the hospital wing for an unknown reason- something that never happens at Hogwarts, and you're going to ignore me?"
"Pretty much." Alexandra said.
"Ah! She speaks." He grinned and she glared.
"Why can't you leave me alone? You don't have to listen to the twins."
"Who says I'm doing this for the twins?"
"I already know they told you to hang around. A bit late to feign obliviousness."
"Why was Madam Hooch testing you out on the field that day?"
"So you can tell the entire school?"
"No!" He said. She sent him a look. "Okay, I only told people about you winning us those house points because you deserve the glory. Also, pretty much everyone guessed it was you."
"I don't want glory."
"Yeah, I know."
"You're weird." She said.
"I'm weird?" He raised a brow.
"Yeah. One second you're helping me out, taking me away from people and showing me your secret hiding spot, the next you're telling everyone things I'd rather keep to myself."
"What about you? You claim to not be a good person but all you ever do is be nice. Even when you're trying not to be." She shrugged. "And you hate the idea of friends, but you let Hermione get close to you."
"I didn't let her. She wormed her way into my life." Alexandra shrugged. "Okay, we talked. Can you leave now?"
"I'm glad you're okay." He told her, and stood up.
"Thanks." She replied softly. Cedric smiled, before leaving. Hermione walked in as he left. She rushed to Alexandra's side.
"What did he say?" She asked excitedly. Alexandra rolled her eyes.
"Why?"
"Because he likes you!" She said.
"No he doesn't."
"Yes, he totally does. And he's very pretty."
"Hermione, Cedric Diggory does not like me."
"He came all the way to the hospital wing to check on you."
"Because of Fred and George. They asked him to keep an eye on me."
"What? When?"
"Ages ago. They're annoying."
"Well, I don't think that's all it is." Hermione said.
"Hermione, if you want girl talk, go to Ron. He'll spend hours gushing over quidditch players." Hermione chuckled.
"Fine, I get the hint." She took a seat on the chair beside the bed. "So who's Nicholas Flamel?"
"Let it go, Hermione. Please. Before you end up in something you can't get out of."
"Like what?"
"Just... please."
"Why do your eyes go yellow?"
"Hermione!" Alexandra said.
"I'm going to keep asking questions."
"Please don't."
