'THEY'RE OVER THERE!' the friends heard Shuri's voice through the café.
Morgan looked up after she heard the African accent just as her friends. There Shuri was, pulling Peter to the table they sat at. Peter smiled awkwardly while Shuri placed him on the chair next to Oliver and she pulled a chair from one of the empty tables to sit beside Ellie. Ellie looked at the table.
'So,' the girl started, 'Peter and I had this discussion. Do you think a hotdog is a sandwich?'
'Knowledge is knowing a hotdog is, in fact, a sandwich,' Oliver told Shuri, not once questioning the conversation starter.
'Wisdom is knowing a hotdog isn't a fucking sandwich, you idiot!' Miles told Oliver while he hit his shoulder.
Peter looked at Shuri. 'Told you so!'
Then all of a sudden, Ellie stood up from the table and grabbed her coat. 'I have to go.'
Morgan looked at her friend with frowned brows. She may have joked about wanting to set Peter and Morgan, but this was something else. She saw how she grabbed her bag and left in a hurry. There was something wrong with Ellie and Morgan was certain that it had to do something with Peter and Shuri. But why? They were her friends, too, right?
'Are we already executing the plan?' Miles asked confused.
'I think she's genuinely upset,' Morgan thought out loud. 'I'm going to check on her. Stay here.'
The brunette stood up and followed her best friend. It rained outside, a lot, so her hair immediately stuck to her neck and forehead. She saw Ellie stepping in a bus. Morgan wanted to run towards her, but it was hopeless, given that the bus already drove away. She cursed under her breath and went inside again, to the warmth and dryness.
There only Peter sat at the table, the rest of her friends had left already.
Morgan quickly took her phone out of her pocket and saw a message from Oliver, saying that Peter was "all hers." She quickly sent him an emoji with a middle finger, but only received a red heart back.
'They left, didn't they?' Morgan asked while she sat down next to Peter. 'Wait, don't answer me, I don't want to know.'
'You look really cold,' Peter noticed her wet appearance. 'Want another drink? What do you usually order?'
Morgan blushed. She hoped Peter would think it was because of the sudden warmth. 'You don't have to buy me anything. I'm fine.'
'You know, it's impolite to recline a gift,' Peter told the brunette wittily.
'Almost as impolite as not saying who you are when you're calling someone?' Morgan replied with a genuine smile. 'I'd like a macchiato.'
While Peter stood up and took his place in the line for the counter, Morgan opened her phone to text her dads, given her friends would probably give her advice in Disney lyrics.
