TONY STOOD SOMEWHERE on a high place in his Iron Man suit, his helmet off. He hoped with all of his heart that Peter and Morgan were all right. As he looked down, he saw Strange floating in the air, a torture starting. He needed a plan. He felt something on his shoulder and in a reflex he turned around, pointing his repulsors at the thing, but as soon as he saw Strange's cape, he calmed down.
'Wow, you're seriously a loyal piece of outerwear, aren't you?' Tony mumbled in himself.
'Yeah, uh, speaking of loyalty...'
Tony turned around at the sound of the voice. Behind him Strange's cape followed the movement. There Peter hung on the ceiling with his mask off. The young teenager jumped down the ceiling on the ground. His mask went off, revealing his face. He noticed the look on the billionaire's face.
'What the-' Tony began.
Peter interrupted the man. 'I know what you're gonna say.'
'You should not be here,' Tony said, almost angry.
'I was gonna go home.'
'I don't wanna hear it.'
'But it was such a long way down,' Peter continued. 'and Morgan couldn't activate the suit-'
'And now I gotta hear it,' Tony sighed, already planning Peter's as well his own funeral out in his head.
'-so I stuck with her. And this suit is ridiculously intuitive, by the way.'
Tony sighed again, turning his face to the ground. The thing he feared came true. Everything he didn't want to happen happened. Putting himself in danger while he had a family was one thing, but a teenager? If something happened, it would be his fault. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if something would harm Peter. 'God, damnit.'
'So, if anything,' Peter went on, 'it's kinda your fault that I'm here.'
Both Tony as the red cape looked up. 'What did you just say?'
'I take that back,' Peter quickly responded. 'A-And now, I'm here in space.'
'Yeah, right where I didn't want you to be,' Tony told the boy, walking over to him. 'This isn't Coney Island. This isn't a field trip. This is a one-way ticket. You hear me? Don't pretend you thought this through.'
Peter interrupted the man. 'No, I did think this through.'
'You could not have possibly thought this through,' Tony scoffed.
'You can't be a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man if there's no neighborhood,' Peter told Tony. There was a short silence in which the two men just looked at each other and Morgan only adored Peter more, much to her annoyance. 'Okay, that didn't really make sense, but you know what I'm trying to say.'
Then Morgan decided she waited long enough. She walked out of the shadows and met her dad's brown eyes. He had that same look on his face when she once went to a party, but got home around midnight while she was supposed to be home at 11 PM. She was grounded for a whole month. So she said the first thing that came to her mind.
'Please don't ground me,' Morgan begged her dad. He got out of his trance.
'Oh, you're grounded. You're more than grounded,' Tony punished his daughter. 'You're double grounded. Why didn't you just listen?'
'I would have if I actually knew how this thing works! I can't even put off this stupid helmet!'
Tony walked over to Morgan. He tapped twice on her head, causing the screens to light up and the helmet to go off. 'Please, please don't die. Your dad is counting on me to keep you safe.'
