Season 1- episode 1

Jo's eyes fluttered open seeing the light come through the hole on her bedroom curtain.  She looked at her alarm clock, realising that she had forgotten to set the alarm for the morning.

She pulled herself out of bed, rubbing her eyes. Walking over to her closet, she pulled out a pair of plain black skinny jeans and a grey t-shirt, tucking it in as it was too long for her. She grabbed an old hoodie from her cluttered bedroom floor and slid it over her head.

Making her way into the bathroom, she brushed her teeth and attempted to pull her messy hair into a ponytail, eventually deciding to just keep it down.

Hearing her phone ring, she jogged back into her bedroom, knowing she was running late.
She answered the phone not bothering to look at who was calling.

"Hello?" She answered, grabbing her pencil case and shoving it into her old back pack, before grabbing an old pair of converse and sliding them onto her feet.

"Hey, I'm outside. I've got football practice soon so we've gotta be early. Are you nearly ready? We gotta go."The voice of her best friend sounded through the phone.

"Yeah, Yeah, Sorry. I'm coming now" she said running down the stairs, grabbing her spare key and going out the door, running towards his car that was parked outside her house.

She jumped in the passenger seat, "Sorry, I forgot to set my alarm clock again. So I woke up late again." She said, looking at herself in the mirror to make sure she didn't look too bad.

"It's cool," Noah answered her, starting his car again. He raised his eyebrow, seeing Jo's knee bouncing up and down. "You ok? What's up with the..." he pointed at her leg.

"I don't want to go back to school. Last year was terrible, I just... don't want the same thing to happen this year."

"Hey, come on. You'll be fine. Just don't pick a fight with any of the football guys. We don't need you getting suspended on your first day" Noah said keeping his eyes on the road.

Jo sighed, "I only did that because Karofsky called that boy a 'fag'. He deserved it"

"Yeah, But you're not even friends with him" Noah said, "he could stand up for himself. You didn't need to get punched in the face for it"

"I'm not friends with anyone. You don't have to be friends with someone to do what's right" Jo shrugged. "Plus, I hate Karofsky. It felt good punching him in the face. Even if I did end up worse than him in the end"

Turning into the school gates, Jo grew even more nervous. Wanting to get away from all the cheerleaders that were gathered around the car two spaces away from where Noah was parked, she unbuckled her seatbelt and leaned over, kissing Noah's cheek before getting out of the car.

"Thanks for the ride" she said, looking through the open window, "see you after school. Love you"

She turned around, hearing a quick 'love you too' coming from Noah, before jogging into the school.

She walked into the library, smiling at Artie who was wheeling his way out of the library, before taking a seat and pulling out her phone, feeling it vibrate.
