What The Future Holds (Hiccup x Reader)

Part 8

Y/N Pov

I awoke to a dark room, no windows, just a flat rock, table, chair and a few other things. I was sleeping in Hiccup's room, on his bed and it was so nice. His bedding smelled like him and it made me feel so calm and at home.

WOW did I seriously just say that? what has gotten into me? 

I sat up and stretched before started my morning routine and then making my way downstairs to be welcomed to three friendly faces. "Good morning everybody," you said with a smile. Valka and Hiccup both responded back with a good morning and Toothless just gurgled as he usually does cheerfully.

"Um, Hiccup I was wondering if-" but before i could finish he said out of the blue, "Y/n would you like to spend the day together? i can teach you things about our world and you can teach me things about your world,only if you want to though." 

I blushed, he wanted to spend the day with me, just the two of us? I so desperately wanted to say yes, however that would delay another day in the repairment of the Nightfury, which means Y/C might be dealing with many casualties and deaths or maybe they won the battle? On the other hand, either way everyone thinks I'm dead. I sighed, what could I have done to help anyway? I'm only a scout after all. I guess one day won't do any harm.

"OK that sounds fun, lets do it!"

For the rest of the day Hiccup taught me how he helps his people with his chiefly duties, how he tamed Toothless, even though I knew how he did it I didn't tell him and he showed me the Dragon Book along with telling me everything about every dragon in the book.

The day was  still not over though, so now Hiccup is sat on Toothless and I am standing next to both of them looking at the horizon on the edge of a cliff on one of the islands Hiccup discovered which I think he said was called Itchy Armpit?

"Hey Y/n," he said trying to get my attention, I turned my head to his direction and noticed how he patted the empty spot in front of him beckoning me to sit on the front of Toothless. Once again for the second time today I blushed heavily and shook my head vigorously 'no'.

"I can't ride a dragon, I don't even know how to," I nervously explained.

"Don't worry about it, I'll be right behind you remember?" 

With much contemplation I finally gave in. I slowly climbed onto Toothless and sat down on his back. He turned his head to my direction and showed me a very ironic toothless grin, I chuckled and scratched behind his ear which seemed to satisfy him.

Toothless's scaly skin felt not quite like a crocodile's but not like a snake's either, it was more like a combination of the two. The strength of a crocodiles, but obviously much bigger and thicker, and the silky smoothness of a snake's.

Hiccup then held my waist and pulled me back into him so I was closer, I nearly shrieked with excitement. He whispered into my ear and instructed me on what to do all the while his hands never leaving my waist. I nodded as no words could come out as I became very flustered.

Although this is the same Hiccup we have all come to love and admire, it looked like Hiccup seemed a bit more confident and more forward and might I say a bit flirtatious? However I'm not complaining.

I adjusted Toothless' tail wing, gave him a light nudge and we took off going higher and higher, the rush of the wind against my face was exilerating, I wanted more!

"Pull your foot back and lean forward," his hot breath whispered into my ear.

I did as he said and as I leaned forward he leaned into me. We straightened up and now we were calmly flying at around four hundred metres above sea level. The sky was lit up in a range of yellows and oranges and the clouds were white and scattered unevenly yet beautifully around the sky.

"I love flying this time of the day, it clears my head and makes me think through things a little more clearly."

"I can understand why, it's so serenic and gorgous."

I could feel his eyes on me, I turned to face him and to my suspicion he was, I looked into his adventurous green eyes and I knew deep down that he too was looking into my y/e/c pools too.

His eyes looked down from mine and to my lips, he started leaning in and so did I. We were so close, I could feel the heat radiating off of his skin warming me from the terrible cold environment and  I could hear his heart beating against his chest. Our lips were almost touching, my eyes fluttered shut, however before we could finally lock our lips an explosion was heard.

Hiccup and I both pulled back and looked towards it's direction, it came from behind us.

Out of no where Hiccup lifted me up and placed me behind him, I didn't know he had so much strength, he was so skinny, maybe under all of that armour he wore, there was truly muscle.

"Hold on tight," he instructed. I wrapped my arms around his waist and stomach, when we turned and increased speed at a rapid pace my arms on instinct held tighter onto him, I think he was enjoying this a little because I could have sworn I caught glimpse of a smirk.

We managed to get there in under two minutes flat, we were now hovering over what was clearly a dragon flirring at the Nightfury 20.17. The dragon looked very familiar, I looked closer and noticed a person standing next to it.

No, it couldn't be... IT'S STORMFLY AND ASTRID.

"NO!" I screamed.

Hiccup flew us down and when I got close enough to the ground I jumped off of Toothless and ran at full force towards Astrid. I pulled out my Smith and Wesson and aimed it at Stormfly, I wasn't actually going to kill her, she is an amazing dragon, I really wanted to shoot Astrid but I needed a good leverage.

"Tell your dragon to stop or I will shoot her! This weapon is designed to kill on instant impact!"

Hiccup tried to walk up to me and reason with me but I ignored him, I needed to get home and without the Nightfury I wouldn't be able to.

Astrid only smirked," good girl Stormfly your doing great!"

I growled in frustration, no weakness, I told myself.

I aimed and fired at Stormfly, the bullet flew through the air as the shell fell to the floor, it flew gracefully until it impacted with Stormflyvs armour like scales and blood gushed out of her leg.

I wasn't going to ever kill her, she wasn't at fault, hell she didn't even understand she was doing something bad. Poor Stormfly was only trying to please her rider's disgusting heart.

Stormfly finally stopped and made a roaring cry, she limped backwards and layed on the ground, whimpering and licking at her wound to heal it.

"Stormfly!" Astrid screamed and ran towards her holding her tightly all the whilst crying.

My arm slowly went down and my aim was no longer at anyone.

"Y/n... What..what did you do?" Hiccup asked his voice wavering ever so slightly.

I turned towards him, he looked at me, then at my pistol, his eyes finally met mine once again, confusion, fear and regret written all over his face.

Toothless now stood defensively infront of Hiccup his pupils now slits, he was ready to protect his best friend at any cost.

I pulled my famous pokerface just like I was trained to back at the base incase I was ever kidnapped or enslaved. "What I had to....for the mission."

I'm back baby.

Hey guys, I know it's been a very long time but I have been extremely busy over the year.
But I'm sure it was worth the wait as now I believe my writing has improved which means a more interesting plot.
I have decided that I will write a minimum of 1000 words from now on whenever I publish a new Part.
