What The Future Holds (Hiccup x Reader)

Everything was so dark and dreary. I tried looking around but wherever I turned to it was just the same empty and endless dark void.

'Where am I?' I questioned myself, my stress levels slowly rising as I was beginning to panic. I tried looking down at myself, however my own body was simply not there, once again I was met with the colour black.

'Are my eyes even open?' I thought cautiously. I tried to remember the last thing I could before I got here but nothing came to mind.

"..what will happen now?.." A voice, it seemed feminine and oh so familiar, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it, this drove me crazy as if it was on the tip of my tongue.

".. I don't know anymore, she seemed trustworthy...punishment." Hiccup! That's Hiccup! That voice stood out to me so much that I recognised it instantly. On the other hand though, I couldn't quite understand everything that was being said and I only heard bits and pieces of it.

Suddenly a huge wave of memories came crashing down on me. I remembered everything, right to the point where I was back to my old self again. But I don't quite remember anything else.

I could hear movement surrounding me. Why couldn't I see dammit!?

All of a sudden a soft but firm hand cupped my cheek, I could feel the owner's hand make small circular motions with their thumb, "..why did you do what you did Y/n? Why did you have to go so far?"

My eyes flew open, I sucked in a breath and gasped loudly as a burst of light shone into my e/c orbs and the fresh cool air entered my mouth,which in response made me cough hysterically, the mystery hand had disappeared from my face and was no where to be seen.

I sat up only just noticing the figure sitting next to me, Hiccup. He was sat in the edge of the same bed I was laying on looking down at me with tired eyes.

A throbbinng pain came from the back of my head, I slowly and tenderly touched the area with a shaky hand and cringed slightly at the pain. "Where am I? And most importantly what happened?" I asked him slowly, still very drowsy.

A saddened sigh escaped from his lips, "while you pointed that thing at Stormfly, Snotlout had managed to slowly creep his way behind you and knock you out. Him along with the twins and Fishlegs had flown there after hearing the explosions...after that we took you back to my house and you had been out for a few hours."

I nodded my head in understanding, I would have done the same thing if someone was showing hostility and dangerous behaviour, but in my case it was validated. If Astrid had continued her ridiculous actions of jealousy I would have no means of returning home, that is if I still can. I am now probably going to be under close surveillance which will make my stay here even longer on top of probably having damage to the only jet that can get me back to my own universe.

"What about the Night Fury 20.17? Did it sustain any damage?" my voice was neutral but my eyes revealed the truth, I was worried there was no doubt about that, although I was enjoying my stay here until this incident occurred, I was still home sick.

A loud bang was heard as Hiccup's fist collides with the had mattressless bed that lay beneath me. His face was glaring at me now, nearly yelling he said, "is that seriously all you want to know? Not if the dragon you harmed is OK?"

I looked at him dead in the eye, my face stoic and professional. Of course I was hurt, but I couldn't let him know this, I am a soldier, a scout to be precise and I would not let anyone know my weaknesses.

" Hiccup if you hadn't noticed, that is my only way back home, without it I'm stuck here, you don't know what is going on back there and I desperately need to get back."
