Battle Stances

 "Today you will be fighting one on one in order to test the skills and fighting techniques you have learned this semester," Aizawa said. Pairs of eyes traced around the room, everyone wondering who they would be paired up with. 

"You will be fighting tournament style.  Therefore, you will fight several people today. The goal is to knock your opponent out of bounds. Whoever the champion is will get a new weapon designed by the support course to fit your quirk." Quiet murmuring quickly spread, everyone determined to win. Aizawa pulled a bracket paper out of his desk and showed it to the class. 

The beginning fights were listed. 

Yuga Aoyama X Tsuyu Asui

Hanta Sero X Kyoka Jiro

Mezo Shoji X Izuku Midoriya

Koji Koda X Mina Ashido 

Tenya Iida X Rikido Sato

Fumikage Tokoyami X Shoto Todoroki

Looks of fear, determination, happiness, confuse, and confidence painted the faces of the students. After a few minutes of review time, Aizawa sent the young heroes off to the locker room to get in their hero suits.

 Inside the locker room, everyone prepared themselves differently. Some prepared physically, by stretching and warming up. Others prepared mentally, focusing on the person they were assigned to. Others began strategizing ways to beat them. Few words were spoken to opponents, while friends tried to hype each other up for the battle ahead.

 "Todoroki-Kun! You're going to have to fight Tokoyami!" Deku commented while pulling out his notebook to look over his notes on Shoji. 

"It was unlikely that Aizawa chose our pairs on accident. Each assigned opponent was based on our personal and fighting connections," Iida said, walking swiftly over to Todoroki, Deku, and Uraraka. 

"We've worked together in the past. But today, we are enemies," Todoroki said coldly. Uraraka looked slightly concerned. 

"Ojiro seems pretty skilled. But I'll try my best to beat him!" she said. 

"Attention students. It's time to fight! Meet outside. 'Rings' have been created by Cementoss," the intercom stated. Everyone quickly filed out the doors. The battles quickly began. 

Aoyama and Asui fought, Asui throwing him out of bounds with her tongue. 

Next up, Sero and Jiro fought. Jiro dodged Sero's attacks, her quirk of hearing helping her know when the tape was about to be released. She punched him, sending him out of bounds. 

Shoji and Deku were next. Shoji was able to momentarily absorb and block Deku's blows, but Deku was still able to knock him out of bounds with a stronger blast. 

Koda and Mina fought, and being outside, Koda was able to summon animals from around the area to help him in battle. Bugs, bunnies, spiders, insects, and birds were called to the area. However, Mina was able to blast them and Koda in waves, and soon Koda was out of bounds. 

Iida and Sato were next in line. Sato had prepared before the fight and loaded up with tons of sugary foods. He came storming towards Iida, his bulkiness growing quickly, reaching to hit Iida with pure force. But, Iida used his quirk to escape any scenario that Sato tried to trap him in, and pushed him out of bounds so quickly that Iida was impressed himself. 

Tokoyami and Todoroki fought. Dark Shadow blocked all of Todoroki's ice attacks but was distraught when it came to his fire. Todoroki blasted both at the same time, sending Dark Shadow into submission and Tokoyami out of bounds. 

Hagakure and Bakugo fought. Hagakure was able to sneak around the ring, unnoticed by Bakugo. He tried coaxing her with insults to get her to talk, but it didn't work. She began to attack him in different directions. His rage built up and he began blasting all around the ring. When certain explosions were stopped, he was able to identify where she was. He enclosed her in a spot in the ring and approached her, a devious smile curling on his lips. He tried to grab her and the crowd held their breath. Suddenly he seemed very surprised and fell backward onto his butt. He clearly had grabbed something other than her arm or neck. Everyone laughed. Looking flustered, he looked back up at where she was before, but couldn't find her. She started dragging him by the foot to the boundaries, but right when he was about to be out, he kicked her and she fell noticeably out of the ring. 

Momo and Denki were up next, and Momo created an electric blanket that could deflect his attacks, just like she had at the LOV attack. Then, she created a small bomb and blasted him out of bounds. 

Uraraka and Ojiro stepped into the ring. He swung his tail at her, but she grabbed it, making him float into the air and out of bounds. 

Finally, Kirishima and Mineta were matched together. Mineta went in screaming and threw balls in his direction. He dodged them and hardened, running up towards him and punting him out of bounds like a football. 

Round two commenced, the new fighters now being

Izuku Midoriya X Mina Ashido

Tenya Iida X Shoto Todoroki

Katsuki Bakugo X Momo Yaoyorozu

Ochaco Uraraka X Eijiro Kirishima

Ausi and Jiro fought. Jiro couldn't use her quirk of hearing much in this case, and Ausi sent her out of bounds quickly. 

Deku and Mina fought. He managed to blast her and anything she made by her quirk back, and he won at a speedy rate. 

Iida and Todoroki fought. Todoroki pushed Iida back with his fire and ice and was able to jam his engine, ending the battle quickly. 

Bakugo began fighting, and his blasts were so fast that Momo didn't have time to create anything, and he sent her out of bounds. 

Uraraka and Kirishima fought. Kirishima didn't have any way of beating her, as his quirk mostly involved him touching her in some way, so he was out fast. Unforchenly, while coming in for an attack, he injured her arm badly and Aizawa told her to see Recovery Girl. 

The third round commenced. Because Uraraka was out, the fighters left were
