The Coffee Shop [DISCONTINUED]

-* Chapter 2 *-

    There he was. All mighty, Komaeda. He walked in and saw me, waved at me, and said that he was with me. The waiter led him to where I was and sat him down. "What would you like to order?" The waiter asked. "Hmm, I would like a bowl of fettuccine alfredo please." Komaeda said, politely.

     I scanned over the menu that had been there when I first walked in, and there were a lot of good choices, but I eventually ended up picking the small pizza. "Anything to drink?" The waiter asked. "Sprite™, please." Komaeda replied. "Orange juice." I said.

     When the food arrived, I dug right in. Komaeda chuckled, and said, "Jeez, you really like that pizza, don't you?" I nodded and continued eating. He tried to make small talk with me. "So, where do you work?" He asked. "Hot Topic™." I replied. "Oh, alright. So, you like anime and stuff?" He said. "Not really, I only work there because my friend from High School, Nanami, works there too. I also get along with most people there just fine, so I don't see the problem." I said back. He nodded, then he spoke, "I used to work at a mall, but then I found the coffee shop and it seemed a bit better. Plus, I didn't get along with any of the people I worked with, so I didn't really care about leaving." I thought, 'Did he quit, or was he fired..?' I didn't ask, because I didn't wanna come off as rude.

     We finished our food here then waited for our check. 'I saw something online that said whoever the guy places the check in front of, they think that individual is the top.. so all I have to do is wait and..' Suddenly, the waiter came and placed the check in front of Komaeda. 'Wha- I mean, I guess he's right.. but we're not dating, we just met-' My thought was cut off by Komaeda's voice.

     Hey, are we splitting the bill or am I paying?" He asked. "O-Oh! W-We're splitting, since this isn't really a date.." I stammered, awkwardly. We both put our cards and the waiter did all the stuff blah blah blah.

      After, we went outside, and I asked him, "Isn't it a bit weird that we brought our own cars?" He chuckled and replied, "I didn't bring a car, I walked here." I was a bit surprised and confused. How'd he walk all the way here? Does he live near here? I don't see any apartments or houses.. "Well then, I guess you can go in my car." I said. He looked at me and smiled sweetly.

         We got to the carnival and Komaeda asked, "Which ride would you like to go on?" I thought for a moment. 'I want to save the ferris wheel for last, so the drop tower would probably be a good option..' "Can we go to the drop tower?" I spoke. He nodded and then we walked over there.

When we got there, I could see while we waited in the line that he was a bit uneasy. "Hey Komaeda, you good?" I asked. "Hm? Oh, yeah, I'm fine. I'm just a bit scared of heights." He smiled that sweet smile again and then I spoke, "Well, you can hold my hand while we're on the ride. I've done it with Nanami countless times and i don't really mind." He nodded, and then we realized we were next in line.

We got on and I reached out for Komaeda's hand and he took it. It was warm, the opposite of mine. The ride started going up, higher, and higher, and higher, and Komaeda started to clench my hand harder. I chuckled, then chirped, "Heh, you okay? I promise I won't let go." And smiled. He looked over and smiled too.

I noticed we got to the top and I was just waiting to get down. Then, it dropped swiftly and we got off. "Well, that wasn't as bad as I thought." Komaeda laughed. I smiled and suggested, "Maybe we should get some food. Like popcorn or a corndog." He nodded and we headed for the snow cones.

"Hello!~ What would you like today!" The guy asked. He had purple hair and a sly smile on his face. "I'd like the blueberry cone, please." Komaeda spoke. "I'll have what he has." I replied. "Hm, what a cute couple!" The purple-haired guy chirped. My face obviously heated up but Komaeda just laughed. "SAIHARA!! MAKE THE SNOW CONES THEY ASKED!!!" The guy shouted, and it almost made me deaf.

Once we got our cones we quickly ate them, and then I noticed it was only afternoon. "Hinata..? Hinata!" I snapped back into reality. "Hoh, hey, huh?" Komaeda smiled. "Good to finally see you back! Wanna go on bumper cars?" He asked. "Sure."

When we got there, they told us it was one car for two people, so we found one and slipped right in. "Hehe, isn't this fun, Hinata?" I looked over at him and he, of course, had his sweet smile plastered on his face. "Yeah, really fun!" I said.

When the ride started, I saw two girls, one with red hair and a witch's hat, and one girl that had sort of braided hair. We bumped into them, and the braided-haired girl shouted, "DEGENERATE MALE!" And drove off. Komaeda chuckled, but I bursted our laughing. "PFFFT- HAHA!! DID YOU SEE THE ANGER ON HER FACE?! PRICELESS." Komaeda smiled at me and giggled. "Hehe, yeah, it was a bit funny."

We got off the ride and I saw the sun going down a bit. I grabbed his hand and swiftly maneuvered through the carnival. "Wow, you really know this place well, don't you?" Komaeda hummed. I just nodded and kept going. Finally, we reached our destination, the Ferris Wheel. Luckily, the line wasn't too long.

Once we got on, the sun started setting, and it looked beautiful. I looked over at Komaeda. "Why'd you invite me here?" I asked. "Oh! Well, you don't remember me?" He asked. "No.." I sulked. I felt bad for not remembering him, but he still kept a smile. "I was in your class during middle school!" He chirped. I though back and.. 'Oh my god.. He wasn't lying, he was in my class during middle school..' I looked over at him, giving a look that said, I remember you and he grabbed my hands and bounced happily.

To be honest, I kinda liked Komaeda in middle school. We were both quiet, reserved, and I wanted to have at least one friend. While I was in thought, he hugged me tightly. I was a bit startled, but then hugged back and chuckled. "Hehe, you're so happy. Why is that?" I asked. "W-Well, I kinda.. L-Liked you.." Komaeda said. I was wide-eyed, when suddenly, the ride came to a stop. We were all the way at the top of the wheel. "Well, usually, the two people would ki-" I was cut off by another warm hug from Komaeda. I smiled, and started tearing up even. I've never had anybody be to nice before.

"Hey, why ya crying?" He asked. I wiped my tears. "Oh, it's nothing, really." He looked at me, obviously concerned. I finally spoke my mind. "Look, I'm just.. Not good with human interaction.." I muttered. He chuckled, then gave me a quick peck on the cheek. I flushed, and asked, "WH-WHY'D YOU DO THAT?!" I was trying not to panic too much. Then, the wheel started to go down.
