Komaeda got up from his nap and rubbed his eyes sleepily. He got up and trudged to his kitchen, where he made himself lunch. He called Hinata over; he suddenly appeared on the boy's doorstep. He creeped open the door and saw Hinata.
"NAGITO COME HERE!!" Hinata squealed while kissing Komaeda all over. Komaeda bursted our with laughter that he couldn't hold in. Hinata pulled away and gave Komaeda one big kiss on his lips.
"So, what do we have here? Nagito's fine-dining meals?" Hinata inquired. Komaeda nodded. "I put a lot of effort into that omelette. I can make you one too, Hajime!" The taller said. Hinata shook his head. Komaeda just shrugged and dig into his food.
"You sure eat a lot.." Hinata mumbled to himself. He ruffled Komaeda's hair and went on his phone. Hinata blocked Nanami on most platforms, he didn't want her to see all those couple pictures that him and Komaeda took.
Just then, there was a knock at Komaeda's door. "I'll get it!" She shouted, and went to the door. He opened the door to Tsumiki, one of his good friends.
"Ah, Tsumiki! What brings you— woAH—" Komaeda gasped as she pulled him outside.
"Komaeda. Break up with Hinata." She said in a serious tone. "What? Why?" Komaeda questioned. He had no idea what was going on. Tsumiki looked around to see if Hinata was there, then began to speak again,
"Look, I don't have much time to explain but.. There have been rumors that Hajime Hinata, the boy who you're dating, is actually a huge serial killer, which goes by the name of 'Death To Despair'."
Komaeda could feel his head spinning in circles. He didn't want to believe such a thing, but he couldn't help but see the resemblance. "B-But those are just rumors!" Komaeda stammered, trying to protect Hinata from Tsumiki's harsh words.
Tsumiki rolled her eyes. "Fine, don't believe me? Well, don't come to me when you're on your death bed, wishing you would've LISTEN TO ME!" She stormed of in an outrage, which put Komaeda in a complicated situation.
He hurried back to his home and opened the door to see Hinata laying down on the couch. He rose and walked up to Komaeda. "What was that about?" Hinata asked.
Komaeda sighed. He was sort of the blunt type, but he wouldn't dare to say that in front of Hinata. Or would he?
"Hinata, may I ask you a question?" Hinata nodded. "Are you that famous serial killer,
'Death to Despair'?"
Hinata's heart started to race. He knew he wasn't it, hell, he didn't even know the first thing about this man. The name sounded familiar though. "No," He replied. "I am not, but that name sounded very familiar." Hinata admitted. Komaeda simply nodded and plopped down on the couch, waiting to watch a movie.
They ended up watching IT Chapter 2, and Hinata had gotten so terrified that after they had to watch some funny vines. After that, they still had time for one other movie, so they watched Shrek.
When that finished, they got so tired that they fell asleep on the couch.
When Komaeda got up in the morning, he noticed that Hinata was nowhere to be seen. 'Maybe he went home..' Thought Komaeda. He wasn't entirely sure, though. Komaeda decided he wanted to do a bit of investigating on this 'Death to Despair' killer himself, since he's only heard things from other people and the news.
He looked him up and he knew those clothes looked like somebody's. Like Hinata's. He shook off those thoughts and went on to learn more about him.
As soon as he learned a bit about him, he called over Kirigiri. She was a detective, so she knew a lot about these kind of things. When she sat down next to Komaeda, she was wearing her usual. A black and white striped, loose sweater with a black skirt. She had a bow on the part she braided her hair and her usual gloves.
"So, what did you call me over for?" She said nonchalantly. She was a relaxed person, to say the least. Komaeda showed her the images of him and she studied him. "He looks a lot like Hinata.." She muttered quietly to herself.
"That's what I thought!" Komaeda exclaimed, which made her tilt her head towards him. "Tsumiki told me he was him, but I wasn't totally convinced..." Komaeda trailed off, muttering to himself. Kirigiri just looked back to the computer, which seemed to be glaring at her.
After a few hours of research, they both had notes about him. "This might be a new case I want to look into. I don't know, though. He's killed many people." Kirigiri said in a quiet tone, but loud enough so Komaeda could hear her.
"If you're going to work on it.. C-Can I help too..?" He questions, knowing fully well she'd say no. To his surprise, she nodded her head yes. Komaeda shot up and hugged her. "THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!!" He shouted. She reluctantly hugged him back and told him she had to go for a meeting.
Komaeda waved goodbye, and he was sure what he was going to do next.
