I stepped out of my front door to be met with the cold winter air. I pulled my scarf tighter around my neck. I slowly started walking down the sidewalk, hearing the slush of the snow under my boots. A tight scowl was on my already red face. I wasn’t having the best of days today. My laptop crashed while I was on it, my best friend got held up at work again, so we can’t hang out today, and instead of driving my car to Starbucks today it decided to die too, so I have to walk.

I started my way down the sidewalk passing many people. Some ran past obviously in a hurry, and some just strolled past looking as happy as ever. I kept walking the long distance until I saw the oh so familiar building. I opened the door to be met with the sweet aroma of coffee. Starbucks was a calming place for me. Hopefully after I have had my coffee my day turns around.

I walk up to the line that only has a couple of people already in it. I look around the small shop, seeing people talking with each other, sitting alone, or typing on a computer. I turn my attention back to the person in front of me. Whoever this person is, they seem nervous for some reason. They keep shifting from foot to foot, and looking around. They turn their head slightly and look at me. I stare at them. They have on a red hoodie with the hood pulled up over a hat, and sun glasses on. This person is really strange. We are inside, and it’s overcast outside, so they don’t really need sunglasses. The person quickly turns around noticing I was staring.

The line thankfully moves quickly and I finally get to order. I order my usual Caramel Frappuccino and walk done to where I pick it up at. It only takes a minute or so and I’m handed my drink. I turn to walk away when someone bumps into me making me spill my coffee all over the front of my coat, and knocking me down. Just my luck! I look up to see the person with the sunglasses looking down on me.

“Oh my, I am so sorry” he says in a thick english accent that sounds a little familiar. He reaches his hand down to help me up, and I take it. I quickly stand up and he hands me napkins. “I should have watched were I’m going. I am so sorry. Here let me buy you another one” He says generously. I mean he does sound sorry, if my best friend would be here, should would be cussing him out. I on the other hand, am more forgiving. I don’t know what it is about him, but I’m not as mad at him as I might usually be.

“It’s okay, it was an accident” I reply wiping off my coat. “What kind of coffee did you have?” he asks. “You don’t have to” I reply. “No I insist” he pushes. I sigh, “Caramel Frappuccino” I answer. He nods and goes back up to the counter. I walk over to the trash can to throw away the napkins, and he returns with my drink. “Thank you” I reply taking the drink and walking out of Starbucks. I start my walk back to my house when I hear the door to Starbucks open and footsteps behind me. I peek over my shoulder to see the mystery guy behind me. I continue walking down the sidewalk peeking over my shoulder every now and again to always see him behind me. I start to get a little uncomfortable, so I turn around.

“Are you following me?” I ask boldly. He stops and looks at me. “No” he replies. “Why are you dressed like that, I mean yes it is cold, but the sun isn’t even out, what is up with the sunglasses?” I ask, feeling a little bad after. I mean I don’t think that was the best way to put it but oh well. I already said it. “I…um…well you see there is this…” he stutters. “What like a psycho girlfriend or something” I laugh. He looks at me. “Something like that” he replies. “Oh” I reply. “Hey, I really feel bad about ruining your coat, why don’t you let me buy you a new one?” he asks, taking a few steps towards me. “You don’t really have to do that…um?” I ask not knowing his name. “Harry” he answers looking a little regretful after. Harry…Harrywhere have I heard that name before? Maybe I heard it in school or something. “Harry, you already bought me a coffee; you don’t have to spend any more money on me. I mean you don’t even know me” I reply. “But I insist” he pushes. Something about the way he said that last part, and the look on his face, makes me give in. “All right” I sigh.

Harry smiles and turns around. I walk up next to him and we start our way down the sidewalk again. “So what is your name?” Harry asks turning to look at me. “(Y/N)” I answer. “Pretty name for a pretty girl” he replies with a smile. Thank god it’s cold out, or else he would have seen the blush forming on my cheeks. We walk into my favorite coat shop and over to the women’s section.

I walk over to a rack of coats, and Harry walk over to another one. I start looking through the coats when I hear Harry. “How about this one” he asks holding up an ugly plaid one. I shake my head no and he just shrugs. I turn back to my rack not really finding anything. “How about this one” Harry asks. I look over to him holding up one that looks like a giant Irish flag. “Of course you would pick that” I laugh. He looks at me with shock. I raise my eyebrow at his expression. “Because you’re british right? I mean I just figured because of your accent” I reply. Harry looks a little relieved and lets out a small chuckle. “Oh, yeah, I am” he replies and puts the coat back.

I give up on the rack I’m looking at, and start to go to another one. “Okay, I think I have it”, Harry starts, “how about this one?” I look up to see him holding an absolutely gorgeous coat. It’s black with silver buttons, a black belt, and silver belt buckle. “I love that one” I reply, walking over to him. He holds the coat out for me to try on. I slip off the coffee stained coat I was currently wearing and slip on the new one. I absolutely loved it. “It’s perfect” I say looking at Harry with a smile. He smiles a perfect smile back at me. I slip off the coat and Harry goes to pay for it. When he comes back I put the new coat back on.
