Aubrielle Marino
4 1/2 years ago
I was heartbroken.
Hearing Kentrell was locked up for four years was the worst news I could possibly hear, especially at a time like this.
"Aubri" I could hear my momma's voice as she walked into my room. She carried a package of the frosted sugar cookies in her hand "I brought you some of your favorite cookies"
" I'm good" I blandly responded, not even bothering to look up at her. I just wasn't in the mood. She let out a sigh and sat down on the side of my bed
"I know you're upset but.. I told you about this boy. It was gonna happen eventually-"
"Right now is not the time ma"
"I'm sorry. But think of the bright side of this whole situation. You can start over, go off to school instead of sitting around here. I'm pretty sure there are dozens of guys that would love to date you that have themselves together"
"I don't wanna date nobody else. I want Kentrell"
"Well you can't have him Aubri. Kentrell got himself into something he can't get out of and that's because of his own immature decision"
I sat up in the bed, tears staining my face "well can somebody tell me what he did. Since everybody knows except me"
"I.. I think it's best if we just keep that away from you. I don't wanna go into details because you'd get upset"
"Well I'm getting upset now because nobody will tell me what happened"
"Aubrielle" she grabbed my face "listen to me sweetheart. Things happen for a reason. Maybe y'all weren't meant to be like you thought and it's hurting me too, I was finally starting to like him a little"
I could tell she was lying right through her teeth
"Just.. focus on school for now. Okay, everything else will fall into place later. I promise you"
I let out a sigh and nodded
"Okay"
She smiled and kissed my forehead the sat the cookies on my nightstand before standing up
"I love you babygirl"
"I love you too" I responded, watching her walk out of the room
Flashback over
2 weeks later
1:50pm
For the past 2 weeks I've been hiding out at Kentrell's place. I'm pretty sure everybody was freaking out tryina find out where I am but I didn't care. Only those I really wanted to talk to were the ones that knew my location and that was only Jessie and the gang. I purposely left my phone so they couldn't track me and I got Jessie to take my car back to my mom's house in the middle of the night so they wouldn't track that down either just to make sure they couldn't access me at all, unless she got a chip or something in my head
While Kentrell had left, I sat on the chair flipping through Netflix shows not knowing what I wanted to watch. After not finding anything I liked I settled on finish binge watching Grey's Anatomy
I let out a sigh as the show started and the door opened. Kentrell walked in and I looked at him and smiled. Waking up next to him everyday for the past two weeks have been the best thing in this world. It was something I've been waiting for since the moment we first started dating and it took 8 years for this to happen
