Raise a glass to the good old days but don't forget the upcoming,

The countdown ends my friends; But here's to New Beginnings!

As the New Year approaches, we begin with a clean slate. The worries of the past are forgotten and hope for the future shines bright. We start this year with hope and promise. The countdown ends and the year begins.

Happy New Year!

Here are few prompts to get this year started:

Snow falls like feathers on your cheeks. You are shrouded by the bright glow of the Northern lights. You smile as you enter the gift shop. You know that you are going to change someone's life today.

10..9..8..the counting begins. You sing along with your friends. Right when you expected everyone to shout "1", you only hear your voice in an empty room. You are puzzled. Something tells you that you are in for a surprise.

New Year for you meant resolutions. It meant a whole bucket full of things you wanted to do but at the end, never got around to. This year, you decided that things were going to be different. After hours of scribbling, you jotted down a very finishable list. When you showed it your best friend, she didn't quite react like you expected her to.

The lampposts lit up as you walked in the middle of the street. The world grew brighter as the New Year came. Though, not yet. There was one last resolution you had to complete. Strangely enough, it could only be completed on New Year's Eve.

The year ends and so does the decade. You are given a power to bring something back from this past decade. You grin, you know just what it will be.

Evelyn was tired of selling matches in the cold. She had heard about that Little Match Girl who died in the cold but she wasn't going to succumb to the same fate. She lit up a match and grinned, she had a plan.

"Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? Should old acquaintances be forgot and Auld Lang Syne?" You sang along with everyone else. The song did give reasons as to why they shouldn't be forgotten and then you thought about your own reasons and devised unique a way to remember them.
