Serena Pov

I had everything for the picnic packed. Food like sandwiches, fruits, vegetables, and my famous macaroons. I even made some poke puffs for our pokemon. "Everyone ready to go?" I asked the group. "Yep!" The other three said in unison. "Alright! We are going to the nearest park. It should be this way." I said as I point west.

"Alright! I'm so hungry!" Ash said, starting to run off. "Wait! You don't know when to stop!" I yelled to him. "Oh, yeah. I forgot." Ash sweat dropped. We started to walk to our destination, and to my surprise, ash stayed with us and didn't get distracted even once. I giggled to myself.

"What's so funny?" Ash asked. "Oh, nothing. It's just the fact that you haven't run off or gotten distracted once this whole time." I said, a light tone of pink highlighting my cheeks.

"What's weird about that? I don't run off that often... wait! What's that over there!" He noticed a Pokémon gym. (A/N not one where you fight and get a badge, just one where your pokemon go to work out.) "Oh, ash. You're hopeless." I said, my blush becoming more intense.

Finally, the park was in sight. It was a beautiful field with many large, healthy trees and beautiful and colorful flowers. There was also a fairly sized lake with lots of water pokemon playing from magikarp to lapras. Many wild pokemon frolicked in the grass, ranging from the smallest flabebe to the biggest snorlax. There was even a little playground for young children to play on. It was quite busy usually, but today it was fairly empty other than the pokemon. It was very calm and peaceful.

"Race ya there guys!" Ash called out. "You're on!" Bonnie started running as fast as she could. "Hold on guys! Wait for me!" Clemont shouted, barely going at a jogging pace. "Oh, geez." I facepalmed, as a rosy blush found its way on my cheeks yet again.

Once I caught up with the other three, they were out of breath, especially Clemont. He was on the floor, panting like a growlithe. We decided to set up The picnic in the shade of a big tree. Once everything was set, I released my pokemon. "Sylveon, pancham, and braixen! Come on out!" I threw my three poke balls into the air.

"Pan, pancham!" Pancham said, adjusting his signature sunglasses. "Sylveon!" Sylveon said smoothly, her feelers moving through the air as if they were weightless. "Braixen!" Braixen sighed as she put her stick in her tail and rested against the trees. Pancham and Sylveon started playing, running around through the flowers.

"Hey, that's a great idea! Let's all let out our pokemon! Come on out everyone!" Ash said with excitement in his voice and a cute twinkle in his eye.

All his pokemon came out of their balls and ash said to them, "alright guys, let's just relax here for a bit and have some food." His pokemon all grunted in agreement.

Clemont released his pokemon as well and got the table set. After which, he faced me and ash and asked "So, now that you both achieved your goals, what's next? And what will we do?" He looked nervous, as if he hated the idea of splitting up.

"Well, as for me, I don't ever want to stop training. I'll keep working hard with my pokemon to perfect their every move. Don't want to make it too easy for challengers! As for you two, I know we'll stay good friends, and we'll never part. After all, you guys helped my reach my dream, and for that I'm thankful." Ash said with a heartfelt tone in his voice. I knew he meant every word of it. "As for serena I have no clue." He looked at me and put me on the spot.

"Well, I'm not really sure. Obviously I'll stay here and compete in contests to protect my status of kalos queen, but as for day to day life, I'm not sure." I said, discouraged. I never really planned what I'd do once I became kalos queen.

Ash put his hand on my shoulder and looked me in the eyes. "Well, whatever happens, whatever you decide to do, just know we'll be by your side every step of the way. Even though you don't know what the future holds, that's ok. You'll figure it out as you go along. But no matter what, it's going to be ok." Again, he really looked like he meant it. You know, ash really has a way with words. He always knows just what to say to make me feel better. "Thanks ash. That means a lot to hear you say that." I say, wiping a tear from my eye.

"Well, shall we eat?" Clemont said, happier, now knowing that nothing will change. "Yeah, I'm starving!" Ash shouted enthusiastically.

This is why I love this man.
