Ash Pov
We arrived at the pokemon center. As much as I was joking about carrying her, I was actually pretty sad when she said no. I wonder why.
Bonnie was lying on the couch, asleep and Clemont was getting the rooms. Serena turned to me and said, "I'm pretty tired. I'm gonna go rest on the couch with Bonnie." And with that, she walked to the couch.
I decided to go to the phones and call my mom to tell her I became the champion. I dialed my home phone number and my mom picked up.
"Hello, Ash! It's been a while since you called! How are you?" She said with a cheery tone. "Hey, mom. I've been pretty good." I said. "So, why did you call?" She asked. "I just wanted to say that I finally became champion so-" "YES! ALL THOSE YEARS OF TRAINING FINALLY PAID OFF!!!" She cut me off. "But the thing is, mom, I have to stay in Kalos to attend to my champion duties so I won't be coming home for a long time." I said with remorse. "Oh. I see." Her mood changed in an instant. "I'll be sure to visit you every once in a while. Take care." She hung up.
I was a little sad that I won't be able to go home until who knows when. I walked over to the couch where Serena and Bonnie were. I sat down next to Serena. "So, how did it go?" Serena asked. "It went well, but my mom didn't take too well to me staying in Kalos for arceus knows how long." I said, a frown stretching across my face.
"Don't feel too bad. You knew this was going to happen one day... you are a great trainer after all..." Serena said, blushing. "Thanks Serena. I really appreciate it."
Our little moment didn't last long, and soon enough, Clemont walked over to us and said "Got the rooms, let's head up and get a good nights rest." "Sounds good!" I nodded my head. "Since I'm carrying Bonnie up, we will be in a room, and you and Serena will share. Sound good?"
"That's fine." I said. I looked over at Serena and she nearly fainted. I wonder why she gets all shy and stuff whenever I even like, LOOK at her. It's kind of weird, but she's cute nonetheless.
~timeskip to when they get to their rooms~
I opened the door only to see...
...ONE BED???
"Only one bed? Really? I'll go tell clemont and you stay here." I said to Serena "k-kay." She said. I walk over next door to clemont and bonnies room and knock on the door. Clemont answered. "What is it ash?" He asked. "There's only one bed in our room. What's with that?" I asked. "Oh. I should have mentioned. They were out of two bed rooms. Sorry ash." Clemont said with a nervous smile.
Only one bed... either I sleep on the floor and Serena sleeps in the bed or the other way around. I don't want her to be miserable so I'll be on the floor.
I open the door to our room and explain to Serena that I'll sleep on the floor. "No no! Don't sleep on the floor, it's okay!" Serena exclaimed. "Where else am I going to sleep, silly? There isn't a couch or anything in here. It's okay, I'll sleep on the ground." I said, starting to lay down. "Y-you can sleep in the bed... I-if you want..." Serena said, shakily.
"No, no. I don't want you to sleep on the floor, that would be rude of me." I tried to lie down again. "W-we can share..." Serena said quietly. "Are you sure Serena?" I asked, standing back up. She nodded. "Okay, if you say so." I get on the bed and it was actually quite comfy. I lie down and start to drift off. "Good night ash." Serena whispered. "Night Serena." I whispered back.
