it was the start of summer, and you knew you wanted to make it memorable. you met some new people, those of which have become your good friends since then.
you had moved to ohio a little less than a year ago, so you still had quite a lot you wanted to experience.your friends had invited you to a small show, where there would also be food and drinks. it was an outside show, and they thought it would be fun.
you agreed, considering you loved concerts and its fun seeing smaller artists and bands.
you decided to wear something comfortable, but was still fashionable.
you got a call as you were touching up your hair.
"hello?" you answered.
"hey, we'll be there to pick you up in about 5." your friend told you. you could feel their excitement through the phone.
"alright, ill be waitin." you spoke, hanging up.
you finished getting ready, and sat on your front porch step.
after the 5 minutes were up, they pulled up. you were surprised, because they were usually always a couple minutes late.
"hey guys!" you exclaimed as you climbed your way into the backseat.
"lets get this show on the road!" your friend who was driving shouted, pulling off fast causing everyone to laugh.
the event wasn't too far out of town, but it was still a lengthy drive. you knew it'd be worth it though.
after a good 20 minutes of screaming and blasting music, you had arrived.
everyone piled out of the car, and walked up to the front gates where they sold tickets and wrist bands.
knowing your friends, they bought the cheapest tickets for the show and figured they would just make their way up to the front when it started.after you bought your ticket, you walked past the gate to find the place was almost far from packed like you were expecting it to be. you enjoyed it, but it definitely caught you a little off guard.
you all had quite some time to spare before the shows started, so you agreed on a meet up spot and went off to do your own things.
there were small tents set up with different things inside, so you decided to check those out to pass the time.
-
after going to almost every tent, there was only one left that you wanted to see about.
this tent had mainly jewlery, which you loved."hi, let me know if you need anything." a woman sat in a fold out chair greeted you as you walked in.
you smiled at her, "i will, thank you."you spotted a necklace rack that caught your eye. each necklace had a different crystal hanging from them.
you looked through and found one that had, what looked like, an aquamarine colored crystal dangling from it."hey, when do you guys close up shop?" you turned to the woman and asked.
"we'll be open all night." she replied.
you grabbed the small neck piece, and handed it to her.
"would it be okay if you could hold this for me until after the show?" you asked."of course! would be a shame if you lost it." she nodded her head.
you thanked her and started to walk out.
as you did so, you bumped into someone and they spilled their drink."im so sorry, oh my god." you covered your mouth with your hand.
you looked up to see a boy. he had dark hair and a silver lip ring cutting down the middle of his bottom lip.he stopped and looked at you for a moment. "n-no I'm sorry, i should've watched where i was going." he bent down to pick up the plastic cup.
you reached in your pocket for a few dollars, wanting to repay him.
"here, take this." you handed the money to him.
he kindly rejected.
"please, it'll be my good deed for the day and i owe it to you."he hesitated for a moment before sighing and taking it anyways.
"im y/n by the way." you stuck your hand out for him to shake.
"josh." he smiled, taking your hand in his.
"you here for the show too?" you asked.
"I am actually, ive been following one of the bands around lately. they're really good." he informed you.
"what're they called?"
"twenty one pilots. i play music myself, and they really inspire me and stuff." he looked at the ground.
"well, me and a few of my friends are gonna try and get front row if you wanna join." you said, hoping he would agree.
"hell yea, ill tag along." he chuckled.
you lead him to the meet up spot that your friends decided on to find they weren't there, and the show was about to start.
that's when you took matters into your own hands. grabbing josh by the hand, you pushed your way to the front."if looks could kill, you'd be dead." he said, gesturing around to all the people you had shoved.
"they'll get over it. plus, you look like a guy with good music taste and I'm interested in this 'twenty one pilots,' band." you smirked at him. he smirked at you back. you weren't sure where this was going, but you sort of liked it.
-
"we are twenty one pilots, and so are you! goodnight!" the lead singer of the band shouted. the small crowd cheered, including you.
josh was right, they were amazing. you couldn't get enough, and you wished they'd make it big someday."so, thoughts?" josh turned to you.
"im speechless honestly. his voice is so good." you explained.
josh smiled, "im glad you like them as much as i do."
the two of you made it to the gates before josh said he forgot something, and ran back. he told you to wait for him, which you found slightly strange but you liked him, so you did.
after a few minutes, he jogged up to you.
"i got you something, I thought I'd pay you back for the amazing time." his cheeks were tinted pink.
he opened his palm to reveal the crystal necklace you were going to buy.
"the necklace! how did you know?" you took it from him, feeling flattered.
"don't take this the wrong way, but i overheard you telling the lady you were going to grab it after the show." he scratched the back of his neck, hoping he wasn't perceived as weird by you.
"thats very sweet of you josh, thank you." you held the crystal up to your chest, giving him a loving look.
"now we've both done our good deeds for the day." he laughed. you enjoyed each others company until you broke the silence.
"josh, could i call you sometime?" you said bluntly.
"o-oh, sure! i can write it down in your phone if you want." he was screaming on the inside.
"of course." you got it out and handed it to him.
as he was putting it in, your friends showed up.
they asked where you were and you introduced them to josh. after that they basically dragged you away, leaving no time for you and josh to formally part ways.you quickly got your phone out and texted the number he put in.
"goodbye josh, i enjoyed experiencing twenty one pilots with you :)) ill talk to you later."
josh was left with the feeling of butterflies in his stomach. he wouldn't forget this moment, and neither would you.
