I picked up my phone confused. Kendall never texted me. It must've been something important.
"Hey Mads... I need to tell you something," the text read.
"Hey Kendall what's up?" I texted back, trying to cover up my nervousness.
The only time I ever saw Kendall was at dance. We went to the same school K-8, but as soon as middle school ended she switched to a private school and I stayed public. We used to be best friends forever, but forever doesn't last. You know that, I know that, everyone knows that.
"Maddie... Eli just called me. He wants me back..." she texted.
I couldn't believe what I was reading.
"WHAT" I texted back.
"I said no... Mads I'm so sorry" Kendall said. I threw my phone on my pillow and buried my face in the blankets. Why. Why? It's not fair. Nothing's fair. I grabbed my phone and searched for Eli's contact. The last time I texted him was right before our midnight picnic. I angrily smacked my fingers on the keyboard.
"Eli, you're a JERK" I texted to him before crying some more.
He didn't text me back that day. Too busy with his sixteen other girlfriends probably. I hated him but loved him at the same time. It's not fair. Nothing is.

AN: hey! So I had a pretty good day yay. Next week I don't have school so I'll be on a lot. Love you guys thanks for reading!
