I stepped out of the ALDC and into the cold morning. Dance closes early today so we had morning practice. I had to get to school, which starts at eight. It was 7:15.
I started the car and started driving back to my house. I was starving. And the car was freezing.
Yeah, not a good morning.
I walked in to find Kenzie sitting at the counter wearing leggings, a sweatshirt, Uggs, and a fishtail braid. She was drinking orange juice and scrolling through her computer.
"Hey Kenz," I mumbled before throwing my dance bag on the ground. I decided I would have breakfast before doing anything else.
She turned and glared at me and I raised my hands in defense.
"You didn't wake me up for dance this morning, genius," she growled.
"Yes I did, FYI," I sassed. "You wouldn't get up so I left without you.
She scoffed and turned back to whatever she was doing on her laptop. I opened the fridge and rummaged through it. I found orange juice and a muffin. I shrugged and ran upstairs with it.
I plopped onto my bed and ate my breakfast while scrolling through my phone. I had some instagram notifications and a few texts I didn't care about. I looked at Twitter and then almost fell off my bed when I realized it was 7:38.
I put on some black leggings and an oversized sweater and I slipped on my Uggs. I put on some mascara, eyeliner and lipstick and shoved my laptop and notebook into by bag. I trampled down the stairs and grabbed Mackenzie by the hand and yanked her outside. We got in the car and drove to school.
"Bye Kenz, see ya," I said while jumping out of the car.
"Later Mads," she said in a sickly sweet voice that made me want to choke her. She skipped over to her little posse of common white girls.
To be honest,
I envied her life.
