"What?!" Tao let out, not believing his own ears. He looked at Johnny who just threw a "What's there to worry about?" look at him "Are you serious?" Tao almost yelled at him. It sounded so idiotic he smiled, but Johnny's face just looked as serious as before, no "Prank!" leaving his mouth with a laugh.

Johnny nodded "Yeah, I am," he said totally calm, as he hadn't just come with the most idiotic idea Tao had ever heard.

-At least that's what Tao had thought a week ago back at the park watching the sunset together with Johnny- but right now he had actually said "yes" to the offer that Johnny had given him- he still didn't know how Johnny had gotten it or anything, all he knew is that he was scared and nervous of being caught- until a minute ago.

His head was starting to feel light as he sat in his bedroom together with Johnny, though the latter was going since Tao and his father are supposed to leave for the gala in 10 minutes, and Tao... Tao is relaxed, and he doesn't notice he's forgetting to blink before Johnny reminds him "you've gotta act normal", and therefore "Blink my dude" Johnny let out, winking, and leaving Tao's house.

He doesn't remember why he had said no to it, to begin with, it seemed nice enough to finally relax not being afraid he'll disappoint his father. He should ask Johnny where he got it, it seems like a good idea to do more often. Actually to do with Johnny.

He laid himself back onto his bed, letting out a deep breath that resembled fire, which resembled a dragon-(I know this is not exactly how it works but idc. It's for the story)

"-Are you ready to leave?" Tao's father asks, his whole body standing in the doorway. The dragon was suddenly gone, but he could have sworn he saw a small fire in the corner of his eyes flowing around "Yeah" Tao says after a minute of silence, standing up hastily and remembering to put his phone in his pocket, as he was leaving his room "So tonight is just a small gathering, a party for us and our business partners..." His father starts rambling as they make their way to the car that's waiting for them.

Tao doesn't hear half percent- maybe 90% of what his father is saying, and really, it doesn't bother him; he's just focusing on the cars and their shining lights that somehow reminds him of Christmas light, though they're only in September and the sky is still light- "Tao are you listening?" his father breaks his thoughts and Tao turns to his father, lost for words because no, he didn't listen

"You said something about the gala is for us and our business partners, and I'm supposed to meet your old friend Mr. Oh Hyeongso and his son Oh Sehun?" He remembers the last part from the night before where his father had told him to be well behaved in front of the Oh's because they'd be his future partners and so on.

His father let out a sigh and Tao thought maybe he was correct? That's what he said right? Right?

His fingers were pressing the bridge of his nose, and that was not the sign of victory and Tao felt the smile that earlier had made its way onto his face, falter.

"That's the main point, but you're also meeting the daughter of the Son household, Wendy"

"Wendy" Tao repeated "A girl?"

"Yes Tao a girl" Tao nodded and looked outside, wondering why he was meeting a girl "Am I like meeting her because we are arranged or something?" he asked just as they had arrived outside the building "Yes" is all his father said before stepping out of the car, Tao doing the same.

"A small gathering my ass," Tao thought as he stepped inside the building behind his father. The room or reception-hall-whatever- was filled with people in suits and expensive gowns, just like his father and himself. He felt himself be distracted by the chandeliers and jewelry shining around the room as he followed the broad man.
