Forever and ever

I went to my dorm to relax and forget everything that happened. I could hardly even remember the events of last night. All I knew was that I drank wayyy too much!! Millard already disappeared out of the dorm, so I could have some time to process all my thoughts in peace.

I drew the curtains closed and turned on lamp by my bed. The sunlight was killing my head, and I instantly felt better when I blocked the sun. I went into the small fridge in the room and took out a cold water bottle. Then I made myself comfortable on my bed, laying my laptop on my lap to browse through tumblr.

The early afternoon carried on in such peace. It was just me and the laptop as I played Sherlock. And the occasional sip of water. But then somebody at my door had to interrupt.

"WHO IS IT?" I yelled, pausing my laptop and too lazy to open the door to check. Nobody answered. Then there was another knock. And another knock. AND ANOTHER!!!! "I CAN HEAR YOU!!" I shouted, finally getting up from my comfy bed. The door opened to reveal Jacob Portman standing before me. "Oh, it's you." I muttered venomously.

"I need to talk to you!" Jake sounded insistent.

     "Not interested." I said boredly.

"No! You need to hear me out!!" There were some tears starting to form from his blue gaze. More like crocodile tears, I thought. He went to reach for my hand that was resting on the door frame, but I snatched my hand back. "Enoch." His voice was starting to crack.

"Just go away, Portman." My hand on the door knob tightened as I was preparing to shut him out. "Go back to Olive." Then he stuck his foot out, blocking me from closing the door. So original, I thought, rolling my eyes. "What do you want?!!!" I screeched.

Jake yelled one single word. "YOU!" At this point our conversation started escalating and I was sure my neighbors could hear us talk.

"No, you don't." My voice was deadly calm. "Because if you did want me, then you wouldn't have done what you had."

"You're not even trying to understand though!" Jake accused, pulling at his hair in frustration. If we were still together, I would have taken Jake's hands away from his hair and try to calm him down. Now all I could do was stare at him with anger and even a little pity.

"Are you going to leave now?" I growled. "Or do I have to?" Jake didn't say anything, tears filling up his eyes. "Fine." I went back inside fast to grab my keys and phone and marched out of my room, closing the door behind. I took the stairs down so I had time to rid of some steam. When I arrived at the lobby, Jake had taken the elevator and was there too, following me.  "Stop following me!!" Jake didn't say anything.

I didn't know where my destination was. I did not have any classes since it was a Saturday. I wasn't hungry. So the place that popped into my head was the library, which was conveniently close. I could still feel Jake pursuing me. I stopped in my tracks, and the American bumped behind me due to my sudden lack of moment. "Stop. Following. Me!" I gritted through my teeth.

Jake's face was streaked in tears, and I noticed he tried to look down so no passersby would see him crying. "No." My ex-boyfriend croaked out. "You need to understand!" He looked deep in thought for a moment before continuing, "I'm lost without you! I need you in my life... you don't understand what a tough week this was without you by my side."

"You don't think I had a hard week myself? You're pathetic." I strode away from Jake, entering the library. Jake was too stunned to move and as I turned a corner to walk deeper into the building, I could see Jake just standing outside where I left him. Finally, I breathed.
