Don't leave me

Part 9

-no ones POV-

Jimin, Taehyung and Lizzie were walking in the road while talking and laughing. How could they have seen it coming? Even if they didn't see if coming it still happened and it shattered everything that Taehyung still stood on. Lizzie had been goofing off and stumbled into the road. Once Jimin and Taehyung saw the car it was to late as it hit Lizzie head on and threw her back into a pole. Jimin and Taehyung froze and the sight of her body falling to the ground. They could already tell she was almost dead by the way she hung limp, but she was trying to move. Now what did they do? They both stood there, unable to move until Taehyung realized it really just happened and he ran to her.

-Jimins POV-

Lizzie? No way. What...Just happened?!....The world around me seemed to move so slowly.  You know when you are twisting up and swing and once it finishes spinning  itself it slowly rocks back and forth trying to retwist? That's what this was like. It made me sick to the stomach and cold. So cold. Why was I shivering? Hearing Taehyung yell my name didn't bring me back, I was frozen to the spot staring with wide eyes and unsure what to do. I saw the world suddenly like a punch to the gut and threw up while Taehyung called someone. Luckily the ambulance got there fast enough and I went with Taehyung who caught a taxi.

Taehyung- "Jimin."

He lightly hit my arm and I jumped back into what was happening.

Jimin- "She..."

Taehyung- "Breathe Jimin. We're at the hospital."

I got out of the cab and ran with him to the counter where they told us she was in surgery.

Taehyung- "Just sit here and breathe Jimin. Inhale and exhale. I have to call her brother really fast okay?. Remember. You can't breathe if  you don't inhale and exhale. I'll be right back."

How was he so calm? I wondered if he was actually calm at all even.  I could tell Taehyung wanted to cry but what would crying do? Lizzie was barely hanging on for her life when the ambulance had got there. If she died we would be to blame. No. I would. I was the reason she went into the road, I was jealous and stepped between them. I didn't mean to make her stumble. I called Jungkook and told him Taehyung and I were at the hospital because Lizzie was hit by a car and that he needed to come fast. I could tell he liked Taehyung by the way they smiled around each other. I was in love with Taehyung too but I didn't know what to do about it if he liked Jungkook. When Taehyung came back he sat down on the chair and I could see he was starting to cry.

Jimin- "This is all my fault. If I hadn't gotten between the two of you she wouldn't have-"

Taehyung- "Stop that Jimin. You can't turn back time by being sad or feeling sorry. It wasn't on you. I could have caught her with my reaction time but I thought she was playing around. Don't start blaming yourself. Her family is on the way."

I nodded and watched Taehyung struggle to keep it together. When Jungkook rushed in he instantly went to a squatting position in front of Taehyung with his hands on the boys knees to hold him up while they spoke almost silently. When Jungkook told Taehyung to sty with him I wanted to say no and take him home but I knew my dad would tell his.

??- "Taehyung..."

A young male jogged to Taehyung with an older woman not to far behind so Taehyung hugged them both. Jungkook moved to sand by me while Taehyung told them what happened. The boy shoved Taehyung back and Jungkook caught Taehyungs arm to steady him from the rough shove.

Boy- "Taehyung! IF SHE DIES THIS WILL BE YOUR FAULT! I NEVER SHOULD HAVE LET MY SISTER BE TRUSTED IN YOUR HANDS!"

Woman- "Enough of that Jackson. I know son, you're scared but it's not Taehyungs fault."

Boy- "Damn right I'm scared. This asshole dumped her and hurt her. Then she got hit by a car with him?! You sure he didn't push her."

Jimin- "I was there! He didn't lay a hand on her. She was the one  actually said she wanted to be friends because she wasn't ready for a relationship."

Boy- "Who are you to talk? She came home crying and saying she wasn't with Taehyung anymore. That clearly means he dumped her and hurt her."

Jungkook- "Why don't we wait for information before we place blame for anything? Taehyung is clearly innocent. Look at how broken up about this he is. If he was trying to kill her and or hurt her he wouldn't look so upset."

Taehyung looked away with tears falling from his cheeks. Jungkook looked at Tae with sympathy and the boy shut up while who I assumed was Lizzie's mom hugged Taehyung and let him cry on her shoulder.  Taehyung had never looked so upset,  even on the night he tried to kill himself.

Jimin- "I'm sorry. It was my fault. Not Taehyungs. I stepped between them and she stumbled into the road where the driver was speeding...It's all my fault. Im so so sorry and I know that wont fix anything if she dies but I have to let it out now so you dont blame Taehyung. He seemed to be falling hard for her even when she dumped him. If hed known he never would have let me get between."

I looked down and Jungkook rubbed my back softly.

Woman- "Dont be sorry. Mistakes happen so I understand. I have hope my babygirl will pull through.  She always has."

She had tears brimming her eyes and the boy was stunned silent. No one had expected me to speak up and say that. The doctor came to us and we all waited.

Doctor- "Im sorry. We did all we could."

Nothing ever prepares you for those words you know? Even if you knew it was coming you can never be ready for it to happen. They say be mentally prepared but nothing can get you ready for something like that. The hardest time of being a part of someones life is the goodbye.  Not a simple bye or see yah but your very last goodbye that you'll ever get. The one that says you'll never get to say hello to them again.
