After we both got presentable, we returned to our previous cuddling positions. Including wrapping Rose in a blanket. She was still exhausted, and it worried me. I didn't want her pushing herself. I could always wait for her to rest.
Besides, what was another day without my soul? Since I was bound to Rose now most of my strength had returned. Rose and I both jumped, startled when two guards escorted my Brother and Sister inside the lab in chains. I set Rose down slowly and eyed the guards cautiously. They had been the ones from before.
The guards looked surprised, but my Brother and Sister just looked happy to see me. I would have been overjoyed to see them had the guards not come in with their weapons and triggered my more primal instincts. My other forms were fighting for control more than ever before and it frightened me. Rose set a gentle hand on my back as I stood protectively in front of her.
"Easy, Love. It's okay." Rose tried to reassure me, but my instincts wouldn't let me relax until the guards were gone.
"Brother? Is that really you? Y-you look healthy again!" Dendra cried while smiling.
I wanted nothing more than to run over to her and hug my little sister, but my body wouldn't let me move. I still felt all wound up and if either guard were to take a single step closer to my Mate, I'd snap. Dendra frowned, hurt when I didn't respond or move to embrace her. I couldn't take my eyes off the guards behind them.
"He's protecting his Mate, Dendra. Our instincts won't let us relax when we first bond with our Mates. Now if the Guards leave. He'll be able to move." Rastus whispered to Dendra but loud enough for the Guards to hear.
Dendra looked at me wide-eyed and overjoyed. While the Guards looked at one another before slowly leaving through the door behind them. It was only when the door was locked from the outside was I finally able to ease up. My more primal urges and instincts retreated back into the depths of my mind as I let out a deep breath of relief.
Dendra ran up to me and jumped into my arms for a tight hug. I embraced my little sister as she sobbed and sobbed. Breaking my heart and it was there I swore to get revenge on the people here for hurting her. Rastus walked up to us and pulled Dendra into a hug while we all wiped our tears. I hadn't even realized I had been crying too.
"Well. I have to say. Welcome to the family, Rose." Rastus laughed and smiled.
Rose smiled as well and joined me in a group hug with my Sister and Brother. Once we all finally felt reunited enough we relaxed around the metal table. Rose and I sat atop while Rastus wheeled over the gurney I had been brought in on for him and Dendra to sit on.
"I knew you two were Mates, but I didn't think you would. You know? Bond here?" Rastus teased and chuckled.
"He got really, really sick again. I was scared of losing him. The Doctor tried experimenting on him even though he wasn't stable yet." Rose explained, not at all embarrassed from my Brother's teasing.
"Oh! Well. I feel like an ass now." Rastus coughed and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well if it makes you feel any better, Brother. I just couldn't wait any longer." I offered, making my Brother burst out into laughter.
Rose shook her head and rolled her eyes while joining in on the laughter. She knew I was just joking around, mostly.
"I'm just happy to see you healthy again, Big Brother."
"Thank you, Dendra. I'm not fully healed though. Rose has a plan to fix our souls back into their proper bodies. Although we probably won't be able to finish the process. Rose is exhausted from healing me earlier and she needs her rest."
