Hanji's POV
Going home that night with Moblit, I couldn't hide the fact that I was already in love with someone else. My heart was captured and caught with that man. God, whenever I thought of that dance with him... my heart pounded and craved for more. My hands twitched as I tried to imagine this hands on my thighs... just caressing and-
"Is this over then?" I turned to Moblit as he drove the car. His eyes laid still on the road and his face was concentrating on his skills to not crash the car.
"Is what over?"
"Our relationship." He says in a gruff way, sighing heavily when we stopped at a red light. "We both knew that we weren't gonna work out as well as some normal people. You do remember that... right?"
I nodded my head gently, seeing reality fading in quickly. "I remember, Moblit. We're just... just friends at the moment. Aiding each other until one of us is ready to move on. That was our deal... speaking of that... found any ladies there? Someone better than me?"
Moblit chuckled, continuing to drive on the way home. "Define the terms of better, Hanji. But if you're talking about in terms of relationships... yeah. We're somewhat... gonna go steady about it all. And guessing how you're going off to Wonderland, you found someone too. Mind telling me?"
"It's... complicated."
"What's complicated is the relationship between us. This can't be that complicated to describe someone you're gonna sleep with."
I began to high heavily and thought about Levi; how it was forever etched into my mind. Between us two, we didn't say a word about it. But the whole point between us two... was secrecy. I trusted Moblit that he would never utter another word to anyone else... and so, I said the secret. "It's... Levi Ackerman..."
Heavy silence filled the car as it droned on. "T-The duke?! N-No! Him?! Out of everyone?!"
"I told you it was complicated." The heavy silence soon turned into rage. The animosity between us grew and grew- and I thought that there was no way that this cloud would ever evaporate. I growled gently towards Moblit as he continued to shout criticism. "What else did you want me to do? Not fall in love with him?"
"He's engaged!"
"And we're definitely not in a relationship that's just falling in love with other people to fulfill the pleasures we both can't enjoy from each other."
That seemed to shut him up. I looked towards him and saw that stressful frown on his face. When we were driving down the straight road, Moblit wiped the sweat off his face and gave a heavy sigh. "Is he... using you for..."
"No, not for his own pleasures. There's some sort of... connection between us."
Moblit nodded his head once more and sighed. "He's cheating on you, so most likely he's not gonna let you step in his mansion that soon. Plus... he has his fiancee... she would destroy you- and you're not like her."
"I get my rank isn't as noble as yours, Moblit. I'm just a baroness. You... you're an earl. I'm unknown to most. I can handle a duchess like Petra Ral."
"You really can't. Just... be careful. I still worry for you, you know."
I nodded my head gently, thinking about Levi once more. "I know... I know..." How his hands were rough and how they would graze against my bare, soft skin. Soft chuckles escaped my lips when I thought of the affair that would take place in the near future. "I'll be careful."
* * *
"Night, Hanji." Moblit says gruffly to me before he retreated into his house. Because of our... disagreement, we didn't clearly see eye-to-eye. We both came to the conclusion of us not staying in the same house. But we still had some feelings for the other, so Moblit allowed me to sleep in the guest house.
"Night..." I replied gently before I too retreated into a place that I called home.
My heavy legs wanted to collapse onto the ground from exhaustion, but I resisted and instead took a bath. The soap suds on my body felt nice and bubbly. I felt like I was on cloud 9, but I knew I was just tired. My bath didn't take much time. Within minutes, I was ready dressed in a nightgown. My eyes felt a bit heavy, and I slowly drifted off to sleep.
Just when I was about to sleep, my phone rang. I then picked up the phone, groggily answering it. "It's... it's sometime at midnight... call me later..." I grumbled, ready to hit the end button.
But it was his charming voice that stopped me from hanging up. Just one sound of it made my toes curl and pulled my legs close to my chest. My heart pounded as blood rushed through my ears. I thought I would never hear his voice again. "If I call you some other time, when would you pick up?"
"Levi..."
"Don't worry, I got two cell phones. If Petra looks at my main phone, she won't see your name. Surprised I found you this quickly?"
I nodded my head, pulling the covers over my body. My eyes slowly flutter away as I pictured Levi on a phone, smiling gently. "Y-Yeah... I am..." I wanted to see happiness... but all I thought was Petra and how she was going to react to us. "W-What about Petra? Is she...?"
"Drunk, or as I stated it. She's asleep. Don't worry for me, Hanji. Worry about yourself. Register this number, okay? If I could, I would tuck you to bed and ensure you'll sleep. I'll see you tomorrow."
"T-Tomorrow?"
His soft chuckles captivated me, and I yearned for more. A craving, some may say. "Yes, tomorrow. Come to that one cafe place, Millie's Cat Cafe. Be there by 11 am, got it? Be on time."
I nodded my head, smiling gently. "Alright... I'll be there on time... see you then."
His last moments on the phone were his soft chuckles and a gruff tone telling me a few words. His words were full of kindness, and I knew right away that... our love was somewhat pure. "Goodnight, my love." And he was gone within an instant. How my heart pounded for him- for his touch. I... I needed him... and tomorrow... is the start of our affair...
