Five Stages of Grief

When someone close to you is dying,

These stages you can't avoid.

You can stay stuck at trying,

Or being of all feeling devoid.

Denial is the first one to expect,

Of course you don't want them to die!

It's one thing that you can not accept,

But know, that it is okay to cry.

Anger is the next emotion to come along.

'Why can't they live a little longer?'

Everything that you do or say feels wrong,

Thus your anger is only getting stronger.

You try to bargain your way out.

'I could have taken care of them better.'

That's all your mind will ever shout

And your mind will begin to shatter.

Depression is the next one to experience.

You will feel sad and that's okay!

It might take a toll on your appearance,

But soon you will see, that there is no other way.

Soon you will accept their death,

You'll treasure the moments you two had.

Then you will realise with every breath,

That time heals wounds and you will no longer be sad.
