Lemon Tree

Now that I have got a child of my own,

Such a wonderful thing it can be,

I decided a lemon tree should be grown,

To remember the times of you and me.

You were so gentle.

I believe you didn't want to see me cry.

But you were always so careful

And to me it seemed that you were shy.

At that time I was naive.

You cheated on me, now I know.

First you were so sweet...

But you quickly turned sour like the lemon tree I grow.

But I am happy now.

I've got a caring husband.

Never again you will make me frown,

But I will remember the time we spent.

My friend didn't believe me, that I could make something 'sad' with the words 'Lemon Tree'. Well...I proved her and my dirty mind wrong!
