Entry #12
What a week this has been. i just got back from seeing Dr. Ramirez, I hate to admit it but our sessions have really been helping me work through all my emotions. Today we spoke about how stressed I am about the art show, that is literally in 2 weeks by the way.
"I just don't know if these pieces I did are actually any good, a part of me love them but another part of me hates them and I want to do all five them all over again, but I have no time for that. " i said as soon as we started.
"Tell me what you love about them." She said calm as always.
"Well the splatters are all my favorites because that's my favorite thing to do. I love the winter scenery because I hand drew it and that's not my strong suit but I've really improved. I also like the face because you can see how much my skills have improved there too. But I love them all because I think they're all really original and personal to me."
"So what do you hate about them?"
"I wonder if I made them too personal, I'm not sure if anyone will understand them."
"But isn't that the beauty in art, abstract art especially, its open to interpretation? You know what they mean and how they make you feel, but i think, and I don't know much about art but, I think that as an artist you have really done your job if someone can look at your art work, understand what is going on but form what it means to them personally. To me good art is the kind of art that challenges a person to think about what it means to them."
I sat there quiet, unsure of what to say. I really liked and found myself agreeing with she had said.
"My art show is December 20, the doors open at 5 pm, you should come if you don't have plans."
"I'd love to, I'll be there!"
We ended up having a little more time left, so I told her about Christian and how my mom is never home. I saw her for like 5 minutes last night. In those 5 minutes I learned she has a boyfriend and that's why she's never home. That really pissed me off but I decided to with hold that information until next session with Dr. Ramirez.
On another note, it's been a week since me and Christian have been dating and I LOVE IT! And it's not like anything has changed besides a couple of kisses on the cheek and occasional hand holding.
"So, what made your parents put you in St. Mary's?" I said into my phone, while I finished up my spanish homework
"I told you, I was getting into stuff I shouldn't have."
"Yea, but that's all you said, what exactly was the stuff you shouldn't have been doing?"
"We don't need to talk about it right now."
"Mmmmm, ok. Well I have homework I should finish up" That made me mad.
"It's a Friday night, you have all weekend to do homework."
"Yea I know but I like to get it all done on Fridays. I'll talk to you tomorrow, goodnight." And I hung up the phone.
The male sex can be so annoying.
