Scott and Mark sat together in the park, eating, drinking, and laughing. They were happy together, for the first time in a long time. They had been having a lot of arguments lately, really ever since Mason had left the relationship. They had gone to have a picnic in a secluded area of the park, because it was peaceful. They could do things like flirt in private.  They were enjoying this.

"Why have we had so many arguments?" Mark said, turning to Scott. He smiled, seeing the blond watching a dragonfly closely.

Scott shrugged. "We've been away from each other," he replied. "It happens."

Mark nodded. "Yeah, that seems about right," he said.

"Plus," said Scott, "I doubt that it really helps that Mason left us. We both had to go through some heartbreak."

"I was sadder," Mark said defensively.

Scott laughed, holding his hands up. "I know that, baby," he said.

Mark sighed. "Sorry," he said. Then, he reached up, kissing Scott lightly on the cheek. "Let's go home," he said.

Scott nodded, and they packed up before heading home.

When they got there, Scott hesitated for a moment, then said, "I think I'm going to work a bit tonight. I might go to Mitch's house to work with him."

Mark rolled his eyes. "No, because I'm sure you were going to ask, I don't want you going to Mitch's house tonight."

"I wasn't going to ask, because I knew you would say no," Scott said. "You see, when you don't get jealous so easily, then I ask you about things."

Mark stared at him. "That's mean!" he complained. He sighed, turning away. "Gosh, I don't even know why I love you anymore."

Now it was time for Scott to stare. "What?" he asked, stunned. Mark turned around, looking him straight in the eyes. "I don't even know why I love you anymore," he said again, with complete confidence. "In fact, I don't even know if I do love you anymore."

Scott looked at him, and Mark raised his chin a bit more. "So you can leave," he said softly.

Scott scoffed, turning on his heel and walking off.

Mark walked to his room, and went to lie on the bed. He curled up on the bed, and sighed. He didn't know how he felt. He just felt...blank. Empty. He didn't know why, but he got this way whenever he argued with Scott.

Well, one thing was for certain: he knew that he had done the right thing. He was sure of that. He thought he had, at least. That is, hopefully he did the right thing.

Scott and Mark had been living together, so Scott wasn't sure where to go at first. After a minute of contemplation, he went to Mitch's house.

He reached the building, and went inside. On the elevator ride to Mitch's penthouse, the tears started. Scott blinked them back. He could wait until he got to Mitch, if barely.

Upon reaching Mitch's house, Scott went into it, and smiled. Mitch was sitting, waiting for him. "When you pressed the button to come up here, I got an alert, like a doorbell," he explained. Then, he seemed to notice Scott's face. "Babe, what's wrong?" he asked. Then his eyes widened. "Right, I shouldn't use words like that, because of Mark."
