Mark walked briskly into the building at which he worked. He had been working there for just longer than two years. in fact, he had been working there basically since he graduated from college. It was a magazine company, which was actually pretty fun to work at. He loved it here.
Mark walked inside, and clocked in. He walked to where he spent his days, doing the same thing all day long. It was worth the boredom, though; he was friends with the people that worked around him, he got to listen to music, and he made twenty dollars an hour, which was a fair amount of money, enough to support himself pretty well. All in all, he was pretty happy.
Mark worked quickly, putting together the binding of the magazines. He cursed softly as his hand slipped against the machine he was using. He quickly adjusted his grip, and noticed that he had caused something to move. It didn't bother him that much, as it was supposed to be loose. He quickly fixed it, and moved on, cursing once more as he noticed that the glue had congealed.
He reapplied the glue. There was a good pile of magazines beside him, and the person beside him could use the extra time his mistake had provided.
Mark went back to working, ignoring his earlier mistake. The pastels of the magazine covers flashed beneath his fingers as he worked. It was a surprisingly difficult job, because everything had to be so precise. But, he enjoyed it.
Until he noticed a new mistake. That was when things really started to go awry.

Scott walked around the factory. He was dressed as a supervisor, so nobody questioned him. He simply enjoyed seeing how the employees were doing. He was the CEO of the company, and there was really no other explanation for why he wanted to do this.
Scott walked toward an area where there were a few people, at different lines, gluing the pages together of magazines. There was one young man who had a magazine on the table beside him, and he was looking up every so often. Scott approached him, and stood behind him.
"You seem nervous," he said.
The young man looked back at him. "Well, I've actually been waiting for someone to walk by." He hesitantly picked up the magazine beside him, and said, "I think I bound this wrong, but the glue is just there to keep it like it is long enough to be stapled. I can take out the staples, and fix it, but the glue doesn't go away completely, and it could rip the pages if I try to separate them. So, should I attempt to fix it, or throw it out?" He bit his lip anxiously.
Scott hesitated. The worker was kind of cute; he couldn't deny that. He wanted to give him advice, because he looked so genuinely worried.
"Well," said Scott after a moment. "I'll go see."
"Thanks," said the worker.
"What's your name?" Scott asked.
"Mark Manio," the other man responded. He hesitated, and they looked at each other, then Mark said, "What's yours? I don't think I've ever seen you before."
"I'll tell you in a few minutes, when I answer your question," Scott replied.
Mark nodded. "'Kay," he said.
