During Tartarus•Pothena[COMPLETED]

Poseidon 

I woke up with a start, my dreams had been getting worse,not that I was complaining, they were usually about Athena and me ,but still I can't just fall for her. I mean sure she is really pretty, and has the most amazing grey eyes and luscious hair and her smile... I was interrupted from my thoughts as my alarm clock sounded 7 which meant it was time to get ready.

After I took a shower and had breakfast, I went to the throne room and looked at the throne across mine which belonged to Athena who was currently not present, I looked around and saw everyone but her sitting on their thrones arguing with each other or trying not to fall asleep, it's not like we were having a meeting or anything, we gods just usually come to the throne room and sit while a part of our godly bodies does our work.

Suddenly there was a flash of light and I saw Athena walk in to the throne room, well more like flash into the throne room and every single God was gaping at her, she looked beautiful...

                                                                                    The Dress ☝️

She wore a grey coloured dress that was just above her knees with one shoulder off , paired with grey high heels and a small pendant shaped like an owl with matching earrings, with minimal make up and hair cascading down her right shoulder in soft curls (A/N I think I read the pendant and earring part somewhere so credits to whoever put this in their story)

I realised I had been staring and quickly turned away, my entire face turning red , apparently she noticed me staring too cause she blushed slightly as she went and sat on her throne. Zeus cleared his throat "Athena, daughter, that is a...dress"

"Ummm, I am aware", Athena replied

"no, what I-" Zeus began

"What he means is why are you wearing something like that, with make up and high heels!?" , Apollo interrupted

"Why are people suddenly questioning my change of attire?" , Athena said in a slightly reluctant voice

"We aren't questioning anything, we simply want to know , why someone so uptight would wear something like this" , I said my voice half droning 

She looked hurt and I realised I should not have said that, before I could apologize, she got up from her throne abruptly, screamed "You know what! Don't even try to talk to me again if all you can do is criticize!", Having said that she ran out of the throne room, me following.

Athena

I ran out of the throne room as tears threatened to spill from my eyes, I was so sick of Poseidon, how could he be so rude!?

I went to the pier leading to Poseidon's domain and underwater palace , I sat down near some rocks and cried my heart out, I heard footsteps and half of me wanted it to be Poseidon while the other half wanted it to be anyone but him.

"Hey" , I heard a voice, I still didn't look up to see who it was and continued pouring my heart out, I felt someone sit down next to me and take me in their arms, I looked up to see Poseidon staring at me with a sad smile and his sea green eyes, one of the things I loved about him,he was always considerate no matter what he did, I pulled closer to him and started crying into his shirt, I wasn't really upset about what he said, I was just thinking about our children who were in Tartarus right now, it made me feel guilty that I didn't do anything to save them, "Hey, it's okay, I am sorry for what I said, I didn't mean it" , I heard him whisper into my ear, for some reason I felt safe in his embrace, I sat there hugging him and shedding tears. He flinched at first when he realised I was hugging him, but soon he relaxed and hugged me back as we sat in comfortable silence still in each other's embrace.

After I finally composed myself, I got up and said " Thank you, I really needed that" , I started to walk away, when Poseidon grabbed my wrist and pulled me closer to him, he turned me around so I was face to face with him our noses touching each other, he smelled like the ocean, a smell I grew to love, " Not so fast, come on I wanna show you so something", he said as he grabbed my hand and I could feel the blood rising to my cheeks, he pulled me into the water along with him as I yelled and held on to him, he created an air bubble around us and led me through a school of nocturnal fishes, they looked so pretty, all I could say was wow, I looked at them in awe and from the corner of my eye I saw him smile, he looked so cute I just couldn't help but have the urge to kiss him right there and then in the middle of the sea until we were out of breath, we passed the fishes and saw a shark headed my way, Instinctively, I pulled closer to Poseidon as he pulled us away from the shark. I realised what I just did and I was about to let go of his arm when...

Poseidon

I looked at Athena and smiled as she stared in awe at the fishes,as we went further a shark headed her way and she pulled closer to me, wrapping one of her arms around my neck while the other rested on my chest, as I pulled her away from the shark, she was about to pull her arms away from mine so I wrapped an arm around her waist pulling her closer to me, our bodies brushing each other. We finally reached my palace and I pulled her inside, as I shut the door, Athena was already looking around the place, staring at all the sea shell incrusted walls and ceilings.

She turned to me and said "This is amazing", I smiled in return and told her to take a seat, she sat on the couch, and I sat across from her, "So...um, I  just wanted to apologize for everything I did to you, saying all the mean things , arguing about Athens, the whole Medusa Incident, I am sorry" , I said as I looked at her, she looked surprised but replied nonetheless, "It is fine, and I am sorry too , for everything I did to you and said to you", was all she said

"Hey, how about a truce? We have been rivals for a long time, I think it is time to end our rivalry not only for us but for our kids too"

" Yeah, you're right, how about tomorrow at eight, near the garden in my palace?"

"Sure, sounds good, well...I guess I will see you tomorrow"

With that said , she flashed away to who knows where. Now I just needed to pick out clothes for my dat-I mean dinner with Athena, it's not a date. But I still have to look good and act like a gentleman if I want her to like me. I sighed internally, this was going to be interesting.

Do not ask how I updated, it is 4 in the morning here, and I am writing this story,just so you know, I will now be updating next month only. Sorry to disappoint you.
