Chapter Thirteen

*Rosalie*

I woke up the next day and got ready before
going outside to train with the Fates. As I walked outside, I noticed that Clarissa was sitting across from Arrow. They both had their eyes closed and were radiating massive amounts of power.

"What are they doing?" I asked Soren.

"Arrow's showing Clary how to use her powers to see into the past," Soren replied.

"She can do that?" I asked. I was surprised. I didn't think Clarissa had that kind of power.

"Sort of," Soren replied, "Arrow can see the past as a whole. Clary has to find back doors to get into the past. The easiest one for her to use is Arrow himself. She's learning how to draw on his ability to see the past."

"How?" I asked.

"Through their bond," Soren explained, "Clary and Arrow completed their soulmate bond a while ago. So she can draw on his power when she needs to."

"Wow," I whispered, "Will we be able to do that?"

"Maybe, but we'd have to get Aphrodite to complete our soulmate bond first," Soren explained.

Clarissa's eyes flew open and she gasped for air. She looked at Arrow with shock in her eyes. His eyes opened and he gave her a reassuring smile.

"I know," he told her, "It takes some getting used to."

"I can't believe that I can see the past," Clarissa told him.

"Technically, you're using my sight to see it," Arrow replied with a playful smile.

"Will it always be like that?" she asked.

"Maybe, but it might get to the point where you'll be able to see the past without me next to you," Arrow replied.

Soren turned to me and gestured to a pair of flat rocks.

"Shall we?" he asked.

I nodded and we sat down.

"What are we working on today?" I asked.

"Focus," he replied, "Close your eyes."

I did as he said.

"I want you focus on your powers," he told me, "Feel it running through your veins. Feel it wash over your skin. Feel it flow through your body."

I focused on my powers and felt the fiery divine essence flowing through my veins. It was wonderful and never ceased to amaze me. I loved this part of myself. As the energy washed over, I felt its power flow across my skin. It was like I was completely immersed in it. It felt wonderful.

Then I heard Soren gasp loudly and my eyes flew open. The first thing I noticed was the wooden sword floating just in front of my face. I looked at Soren and noticed that he was in shock.

"What was that?" I asked.

"I asked Ryder to throw that at you," he told me.

"Why?" I asked.

"I wanted to see just how far you've come with your powers," he admitted, "And I'm impressed. You have complete faith in your powers, Rose. You've come a long way."
