*Soren*

"Arrow?" I asked.

"Yes?" Arrow replied.

"What made you accept Clary as your soulmate?" I asked.

"Father played a part in my acceptance, but I think that what made me accept Clary as my soulmate was her beautiful soul," Arrow replied, "She's so kind and I fell in love with that. My darkness fell in love with her light."

"I think...I think I love her," I admitted.

"Rose?" Calix asked.

"Yeah," I replied.

"Then maybe you should tell her," Calix stated.

"I can't," I replied.

"Why not?" Calix asked.

"I don't know if I'm ready for her to see the darkness of my soul," I admitted, "The darkness that centuries of pain has given me."

"I didn't think Clary was ready either, Soren," Arrow admitted, "But she was. Don't underestimate your soulmate. The strength they have is incredible."

"Ours are still out there," Ryder said, referring to himself and Calix.

"Are you saying you believe that there's a soulmate for you out there?" Arrow asked.

"I don't know," Ryder replied, "Maybe."

"Have you felt the pull on your heart yet?" I asked.

"No," Ryder replied, "But I'm not surprised. My attitude is terrible. No girl wants to be with a guy like me."

"Ryder, your attitude is because of the curse," Arrow told him, "It's making you lose yourself."

"I know, but that doesn't make it okay," Ryder replied.

It was silent for a few moments and then Calix spoke again.

"Do you think Ares will make good on his threat?" he asked.

"I don't know for sure, but it's Ares, so I assume so," Ryder replied.

"Do you think the Fated Four will be able to stand up to Ares if it comes to that?" Calix asked.

"They won't have to," Arrow replied, "Because I will personally wring Ares neck for threatening them."

"Besides if the other two members of the Fated Four are as strong as Clary and Rose are, I don't think they'll have any problem giving Ares the beatdown he deserves," Ryder stated.

"Did my ears deceive me or did you just compliment Rose and Clary?" Arrow asked.

Ryder sighed.

"Yes I did," he admitted, "What can I say? They're strong and powerful. I'm glad you two have them. I hope my soulmate will be as strong as they are."

"She's out there, Ryder," Arrow assured him, "I know she is."

"You used to feel so hopeless about it," Ryder noted.
