I woke up the next morning and the first thing I saw was Soren's sleeping form. As I looked at his sleeping form, I thought about last night. The pain. The love. The pleasure. The trust. The healing. The passion. I remembered all of it. But my recollections were interrupted by a buzzing sound. I looked around for the source and saw a little light in the back pocket of Soren's discarded jeans. His phone.
I got up and went to turn it off, not wanting to wake him. I pulled his phone out of the pocket of his jeans and noticed that Ryder's name was flashing across the screen. It was seven in the morning. Why would Ryder be calling Soren now? They hadn't come back last night. Had something happened?
I answered the phone and held it up to my ear.
"Ryder," I greeted the second youngest of the Fates.
"Rose?!" Ryder asked in surprise, "What are you doing with Soren's phone? Wait...never mind I don't want to know."
"Is something wrong?" I asked.
"We've found Enyo lurking around town by herself, but she's spotted us," Ryder replied and I heard a crash in background, "Get your butts over here and help us contain her."
"Where are you guys?" I asked.
"The park," Ryder replied, "Hurry!"
"Ryder!" I heard Calix shout in the background. There was another crash and Ryder hung up.
Soren stirred and his eyes fluttered open.
"Good morning," he greeted me with a sleep filled voice.
"Not for long," I told him. He noticed the troubled expression on my face and frowned.
"What's wrong? You don't regret last night do you?" he asked.
"No," I assured him, "Not at all. Ryder just called. They found Enyo and need some backup."
Soren shot out of bed and threw on some clothes. I got ready as well.
We both rushed outside and got into Soren's car. He slammed on the gas and we sped away.
We arrived at the park and got out of the car before running into the park itself.
"Did Ryder say where they were?" Soren asked.
"No, but something tells me that we won't have any trouble finding them," I replied as I pointed to the flashes of black light coming from the woods.
Soren nodded and we rushed into the woods. As we went further in, we started hearing the voices of our allies and Enyo. The further in we went, the louder the voices became.
We reached a clearing just in time to see Enyo blast Ryder back. He hit a tree and fell to the ground. I winced, that looked like it hurt. I turned my attention to the fight and saw Arrow and Clarissa struggling to contain Enyo. Enyo blasted Clarissa and that made my blood boil with anger. Clarissa was my best friend. I wasn't about to let some psychotic Goddess of War hurt her. I rushed over to her side and blasted Enyo back with a burst of shadows.
