Days after the big news event more knocking was heard.
"Hello?" a voice from the other side of the door yelled
"One moment" the door open Jake say his father standing tall
"Dad – I mean father," Jake mumbled
"Where is she?" he asked,
"In the washroom," Jake answered
"So," he cleared his throat
"Married now?" Jake's father nudged
"Yes father, happily." Liya walked in
"Jake, who is this?" Liya said shaking their hand
"I'm Jake's father, I'm Hennery, Micane. It's a pleasure meeting you." He signaled for a name "Liya! Riveets. Wonderful meeting you sir. I see you have azmans! Beautiful shoe brand"
"Oh! She knows her shoes!" Hennery's laugh made the air rumble
"Oh! That sounds pleasant!"
"You want to know what's even MORE pleasant?" Jake asked,
"What is it?" Hennery questioned after Jake finished
"Liya here has my son!" Jake yelled happily
"That's great!" Hennery jumped
"I'll invite John!" Hennery insisted 'Wait, dad?' Liya thought. Hennery pulled out his old-styled phone
"Hey! John, it's me! I have a surprise for you if you come by Jake's office, I think you'll be ecstatic!" Hennery listened to the few words that were said by John before hanging up.
"He'll be here any moment!" Liya put her head down
"Is he a police officer from up north?" Liya asked as Hennery nodded.
"This isn't going to go well," Liya said with slight worriedness.
"Why not?" Hennery asked,
"I went to prison." Liya directed and Hennery looked devastated
"Jake, may I talk to you? In private?" he looked at Liya with a look of death, he was fuming mad which made Liya frightened.
"Fine." Liya's voice shook as she left.
Jake and Hennery sat on the couch
"Yes, father?" Jake asked
"I'm disappointed Jakob, a criminal? You should know better. This family doesn't deal with crime, that's what the police do." Hennery directed.
"Dad, I'm the one who had her released, I. Invited her to my party," Jake said proudly hoping Liya would hear.
"What, party?" Hennery asked with concern "Joan didn't give you an Invite?" Hennery shook his head,
"I'll mention it at our next meeting."
"So, what is it like marring a piece of scum? Must be vile." Hennery smiled.
"Father! Never call my wife scum, you know what happened, she is no different if you were to ask! Remember Sabrina?" it went quiet as he nodded
"If only you knew-" Hennery stood
"Never, disrespect Liya again." A knock came from the door
"Hennery, it's me!" John called.
"We'll talk later," Jake answered the door
"Oh my! Jake is so grown up!" John grabbed Jake's cheeks
"Hello John" Jake said muffled, John grabbed Hennery's hand and shook it
"Liya," Jake called and John knew what was happening
"Hello-." She walked out head held high
"Liya. Where have you been? I was worried!" John cried as Jake smiled,
"I knew he was your father! You both look-a-like!"
"John, your girl here was in prison," Hennery said out loud
"Wait, Liya you were in prison?"
"Yeah, you know why" Liya sighed
John smiled "It's ok, I'm not mad just a little upset you didn't tell me."
"And Jake for all that is good for you, you're not marrying her."
"You know what, I'm done with this fancy crap dad, I TRIED to be like you, but you simply don't understand how hard it is. Get out. First mom and now you're trying to push away my wife? Get out" Jake pointed to the door,
"Jake listen-" Hennery mumbled
"No, YOU listen, I'm no Hennery Micane. I am no, big business. I do what I need to do, and I NEED to do this. Goodbye. Dad" Hennery was hurt by his son's words so he left in his tears, Jake felt guilty, Liya put his hand on Jake's shoulder
"I'm sorry Jake, I was wrong to say my past," Liya whispered
"No Liya. He has had control over me for my whole life, I just needed a push" Jake turned around kissing Liya
"Do you need anything for the wedding?" John asked,
"Yeah, for you to be there! And our child!" Liya laughed
"Wait Liya?" John asked said
"Yes, dad!" John laughed
"This is amazing! I say a feast?" John asked Liya smiled "You know me!" John smiled
"You too Jake?" John slowly started to move to the kitchen awaiting an answer
"Sure!" Jake agreed, John was finally out of the room. He pushed Liya on the couch "It's just you and me now." He smiled.
