Almost Over You [COMPLETED]

"Job well done, Ms. Valdomero. I wasn't expecting that much since you're still young but I'm quite impressed," napangiti ako sa komento ng board sa presentation ko

Ilang komento pa ang narinig ko mula sa board, ang iilan ay pinuna ang mga hindi ko napansing loopholes ng presentation pero karamihan doon ay puro papuri. I glanced at my father, he smiled. I think I did a good job right? Hindi ko naman din kasi alam kung bakit sa akin pinahandle dito. I really think that this quite an important deal, papaano na lang kung pumalpak ako? I don't think I face anyone right after a humiliation from the board. I shook my head, removing that thought, at least I'm done right? 

Tumikhim si Mr. Vicencio, "So, I guess its a done deal? We, Vicencio's and Valdomero's, are now officially the supporting company of the Montenegro's!" maligayang anunsyo niya. Agad naman akong nakipagkamayan sa board kasama ang mga head ng bawat department. I saw how my Dad grinned upon hearing the announcement, he even tapped the shoulder of Mr. Vicencio and even the other members of the board. 

I cannot believe I really did it! Naipasa ko ang partnership ng mga Montenegro, Vicencio, at Valdomero. This is a big accomplishment across the 3 companies! 

"I'm impressed with your daughter, Alejandro. Magaling, very well trained!" tumango naman si Daddy at ngumiti,

"Anak ko 'yan, Victor, hindi pupwedeng pumalpak." natawa na lang ako sa komento ni Daddy, kahit kailan talaga ang perfectionist niya. Nakita ko naman ang mga makahulugang nginitian nilang dalawa, "Itali mo na sa anak ko! Mahirap na, at para na rin matuloy na ang merging natin!" humalakhak si Tito Victor at nakita ko namang napailing si Daddy bago halos sumang-ayon sa sinabi ni Tito,  oh c'mon. Business issues.

Nagpaalam ako para lumabas at bumalik sa department ko. My initial plan for college is to take a pre-law course, which is Accountancy, then take the boards for license before going to law school. Pero dahil kailangan ko na rin tumulong sa kompanya, my decision was just to get the license and work in the company. Hindi ko naman maiwasang tanggihan sina Mommy dahil wala naman silang aasahan dahil si Kuya Clint ay nagdoktor at may pamilya na rin. Ever since we were children, Kuya Clint swore to my parents that he will not be the heir of the company at iba ang gusto niya for his future. Kahit kailan naman ay hindi tinutulan nila Mommy ang mga desisyon ni Kuya, pakiramdam ko nga eh kahit mag-drugs si Kuya at makulong, ilalabas pa rin siya nina Mommy. Habang ako, kailangan laging may approval. But that was before, now they support me in things that I want. Last time, kinukulit nila ako na ituloy na ang law school dahil baka sayang daw yung nasimulan ko pero I just said that I'm already okay with running the business. Naaapply ko naman ang mga natutunan ko in terms of managing the finances and incomes of the company. I think I can live with that. Hindi na rin ako bumabata, I'm already on the quarter season of my life. I think I just have to enjoy things, build a family I guess?

Right after I graduated, I took a break for one approximately one year. I somehow did a soul-searching after that break-up, akala ko nga ay hindi na ako makakagraduate dahil ilang araw din akong hindi pumasok but still I managed to not lose myself. Nagbackpacking ako around Europe kasama ang mga college friends ko na balak ding magpahinga muna. I think studying all those subjects in Accountancy burned us out. Kasama ko rin dapat si Keira pero may mga plano din sila ni Nicollo for vacation at ang alam ko ay sisimulan na rin niyang pumasok sa firm nila para makatulong dahil kinukulang na din daw sa engineers and firm nila. She finished college with a degree in Civil Engineering habang si Nicollo naman ay nagpaplanong pumasok din sa law school dahil Political Science naman ang tinapos niya. 

Mid-October nang bumalik kami para makapagsimula nang review for boards. After months of studying again, I finally got my license! Double celebration pa nga iyon dahil nagpropose si Kuya Clint kay Ate Vernice, her college sweetheart, na matagal niya ring tinago sa amin dahil on and off daw sila. Halos maiyak si Mommy nang makitang um-oo si Ate Vern, of course she supports Kuya in his decision pero siguro ay hindi rin siya handa pang pakawalan si Kuya. At nabigla lang din siguro siya dahil magsisimula pa lang ng residency si Kuya!
