Jack's POV;

Once the sun had fallen behind the ocean's horizon, I knew that we were in even more danger than before. The darkness was Pitch's specialty. And with him having the ability to get inside of our heads like he did to Rapunzel, we need to be on guard now more than ever.

The night sky was blanketed with dark, thick clouds. There was no moon's light to brighten our way through the darkness. Crouching down in the bushes, looking out for any sudden movements in this dense jungle. Vines draped over limbs of trees. The ground covered in moss and dead leaves from the coming winter. With careful caution, I could hear almost every foot step several hundred feet away.

With my staff in hand, I tried to stay patient. Looking for any signs of him, black sand, unsettling snickers, illuminating eyes. Anything that can give me a hint of his was about.

"WAAHHH!" A shill yelp screeched throughout the trees. Bunnymund?

Running in the direction of the yell, I ran straight into a clearing.

"Run Mate!" Bunny called firmly, but I couldn't see him.

"Where are you?" i called back.

"I said RUN!" it sounded like it was coming from above. Looking up, I saw a frantic, Large rabbit entangled in a large, thick net. Watching him squirm to get to him boomerang from its holster on his back.

"Hold on, I'll get you down!" I shouted as I flew up to him. He looked panicked.

"I said run, stupid!" he scolded, and that's when I heard the crunching noise from the jungle. Spinning around, arrows of black sand shot straight towards me. Slicing some with my ice to avoid Bunny from getting shot, I tumbled to the earth.

Regaining my balance, more arrows shot out through the trees. Hundreds more were coming right for me.

In reflex, I shot up an ice wall and barricaded myself, and Bunnymund behind it. Shielding us from the hoard of arrows, black sand blanketed the ground around me. Not hearing anymore more shots, I started to relax and looked over my barricade. The jungle was empty. Not even a sound escaped. Had I gone deaf?

Tapping my ice to check, I heard the clang of my staff echoing on solid ice. My hearing was fine at least.

The sand shifted. In a start, I flew up but my ankle was caught. Black sand grabbed my leg and pulled me back down to the earth with a loud thud.

Sand crawled around my body, wrapping and encasing me in its darkness. Seemingly, swallowing me in it. I couldn't move as I squirmed from its grasp.

"Comfortable?" and hiss said within the dense jungle. Looking up from the ground, kind of at an angle, Pitch stood in the clearing. "No?" he smiled wickedly at me, tilting his head to match mine. He snapped his fingers and a huge wave of sand flowed in the center, North was trapped inside, seems to be in a daze.

"North!" I shouted, struggling even more from the sands grasp. It tightened the more I move, constricting me like a snake ready for dinner. I coughed loudly, gasping for air.

"He's fine, Jack, but if you keep on struggling like that, I can't guarantee that you will be," he said with a smile, standing over me. Laying flat on my back, I tried to relax, but it was no use.

Pitch left my side and wondered over to North, pulling out some sand and formed a long handled sickle and held it up to North's throat. He held his head up high, seemingly unfazed.

"I see that were are missing a few of your team. Where are they?" Pitch said with an edge in his voice. North didn't look at either of us, only towards the thick jungle. He didn't answer his question. Pitch's eyes narrowed and pressed the blade onto his neck. "I'll ask you one more time," He said harshly. "Where are the others?!"
