Damien broke out into giggles.
"Don't you dare do your old man voice," Damien said between his laughter.
Screwing up his face into the weird position he was really good at doing, Shayne put on his crazy old man voice and replied, "Why not, Damien?"
"That's one of my least favorite voices of yours, it's so grating on my ears dude," Damien's face bore a grimace, but he chuckled good-naturedly.
"Is it worse than my Australian voice?"
"Oh, definitely."
"Ohr nohr!"
"Shayne, quit it!" Damien was giggling again, his eyes crinkling with his smile.
Shayne looked down with a small smile. "I'm sorry, I just... I'm really enjoying myself and I want this to last as long as possible," he trailed off before he looked up and his eyes met Damien's. He was pleasantly surprised to see genuine affection and not just lust behind those soft brown eyes.
"Shayne," Damien began slowly, "this doesn't have to be a one time thing. We could... you know...,"
"Date?" Shayne finished for him.
"I mean, yeah."
"Does that violate our contracts or something though?"
"It probably doesn't," Damien stated confidently, "but I'm pretty sure Ian isn't gonna fire us for love- for being together."
"You can say it."
"What?"
"You can say we love each other. Because it's true, isn't it?" Shayne's voice was shaking slightly, "I mean... I love you...," he whispered out, his cheeks becoming a shade darker with red, but the corners of his mouth turned up in a somewhat teasing grin.
Damien let out a big sigh, before returning to looking at Shayne's face. "Well, up until today I had thought of it only as like a best friend love kinda thing, but yeah, I guess I've loved you for awhile now Shayne," deep within himself, Damien felt a blossoming warmth, as if he'd let something out that had been inside him for a long time.
"So we're boyfriends now?" Shayne asked, gleefully.
"Yeah. We're boyfriends now, you big dummy," Damien laughed quietly, and ruffled a hand through Shayne's hair.
"I like that word," Shayne pauses and looked off into the distance dramatically, "'boyfriends'," he whispered, as if the word was a sacred spell.
"Dude, stop being such a dork," Damien giggled and poked Shayne's cheek.
"No, I'm serious!," Shayne had a big grin on his face as he put on a goofy announcer voice and pretended to hold a mic to his mouth, "Damien and Shayne, best friends to boyfriends- who could have seen it coming!?"
In a deadpan voice, Damien replied, "About 95% of the people that watch smosh; Ian; our friends; my mother-," he was cut off by Shayne shoving him, laughter again bubbling out of his throat.
"Okay, I get it! I get it. So, the only ones who couldn't see it were us? Yeah, that sounds about right," Shayne laughed at his own joke, before laying his head on Damien's chest and looking up at him.
"Yup, we're just a couple of dumdums," Damien said in a funny voice.
"A couple-a doofuses," Shayne replied in an equally goofy tone.
"Just two people operating off of one shared brain cell," Damien giggled again, at their back and forth kind of humor. "But I think we've stalled your turn long enough. Are you ready baby boy?"
