Dedication

To anyone who has ever lost someone they love. To anyone who has survived from a mental illness and fights to survive every day. To anyone who has wanted to give up. This book is a reminder to continue on, and fight on. Things will and they do get better.

Hey there! Hi! Hello!

I'm very tempted to just greet you all in 10 different ways and just leave but I won't. And that's because I'm so glad you're giving my book a chance! I'm so glad you're reading my book/at least considering it!

Thank you so much for that!

I'm Rishika. I'm seventeen, and I'm currently on a gap year. I'm short (think short, and then shorter than that). I LOVE Brooklyn Nine-Nine and New Girl. My favorite book till date is The Kite Runner. I love creative writing, but I'm crappy at any form of academic writing.

That's all I could come up with about me.

What about you? I want to know something about those who are reading the book?

Anyways, so this book is the first book I've ever completed and that I'm really proud of. It is a book that talks about mental health, particularly depression and PTSD. Mental Health is a very personal topic to me, which is another reason this book is so close to my heart.

Before you proceed I'd like to give you a few disclaimers:

1. Trigger Warning: It's a very intense book and if you struggle with any of the things the characters struggle with you might not want to read it.

2. I REPEAT: TRIGGER WARNING FOR DEPRESSION AND SUICIDAL IDEATIONS (because people tend to ignore them)

3. The characters are fictional and don't resemble anyone.

4. There will be grammatical errors and plot holes because it's a working draft. Also because I was a high school senior who started this in the middle of college applications, and then finished it at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

5. There are POC characters and LGBTQ characters. If you have an issue with that, please read another book :)

6. If you plagiarize my book you will suffer serious consequences.

Mental illnesses are serious and if you struggle with them please know that help is always available. My dm's are always open :)

Enjoy your read! I'll pop in in the A/N if I have anything exciting to say (given that we're in the middle of a pandemic it'll probably revolve around new things I've baked or new hobbies I'm trying out.)
