I sat at the bar drinking a Corona, looking around the club to see sweaty men and woman dancing with each other, I was thinking that yet again Dom had to stand in my way.

Until someone with a voice I'd know anywhere slid next to me with a gruff voice ordering a Corona.

I turned to him, "You know I remember vividly telling you to stay out of my way and let me do my job"

He took a sip of his beer before answering, "I don't know, Was it before or after you tried to shoot me?"

I smirked, "If I wanted to shoot you, Dom. I wouldn't have missed"

He turned to me fully "What's to stop someone from telling them you're a cop?" He asked.

"Probably the same thing that's stopping me from telling them why you're really here" I sassed back not taking my eyes off of him as we stared each other his eyes wandered to my neck for a moment searching for the cross that was safely tucked in my t-shirt but you could definitely see the outline of the necklace.

As he was about to say something, Campos put his hands on Dom's shoulder interrupting our conversation, "What's up?"

I put on a fake smile as he turned to me, "Hey, How you doing?"

"Great, You having a good time?" He asked me and Dom

I nodded, "Yeah, a great time"

"Come on, let's have a better time" He said ushering me and Dom to follow him.

Campos took us to one of the couches that looked like it only belongs to the vips of the club, "How's your car? It took a nasty bump" Campos asked.

"Yeah, it did but it'll be ready" I said glaring at Dom.

"I have to say I'm impressed." Campos said looking at me.

"Why are you saying that?"

"Not all women can race like you do, Campbell" He said stressing on my name.

I nodded understanding that he must've asked about me, "I get it then you've heard about me,

“Who didn't? If I had known I would have just added you to the team." He said with what looked like awe, I nodded not knowing what to say to that.

Campos then turned to Dom, "And you, you're wanted by a lot of people, homes."

"Yeah that kind of heat can't be good for business" I smirked taking a sip of my beer.

"Yeah, well it depends on how you look at things. I go down, I do time. I do real-time." He said looking straight at me as if he's the only one who ever was in lock-up.

He turned to Campos, "I don't know about your other drivers, but when I see flashing lights in my mirror, I don't stop" I get it now he probably thought I was lying about me being in prison.

I scoffed taking another sip of my beer, Campos looked at us resting on the couch, "Do you know each other?"

I snorted at that, "We used to date" Dom answered staring at me.

Campos smiled, "I see, you're a lucky man"

Dom frowned, "How's that?"

"You're still breathing" I chuckled at that, He then raised his cup looking at Dom, "To the ladies, we've loved and the ladies we've lost" He toasted.

Dom was watching me while toasting with Campos he can't have possibly fallen in love with me, I know I have feelings for him but I don't know if he still do.

"So, what's Braga about?" I asked itching to know more about the big guy as we got no information about him.

"You know, he's just one of us. Came up from the streets. Down for el barrio. Now he's a shot caller. The boss of bosses. See all these cats in here? Anyone of them would die for Braga."

"Including you?" I asked.

He paused for a second, "Especially me."

One of Campos' bodyguards whispered something to him, standing up he excused himself before following his bodyguard out.

I looked at Dom, "Braga's mine, Dom" I said as some girls sat beside Dom offering him some drinks.

I sighed standing up, not wanting to watch him flirt with them, "Good luck" He said as I followed Campos.

I followed Campos down a corridor, watching him going into a room with a bodyguard waiting outside, he was certainly meeting Braga.

I waited outside for a couple of minutes waiting for any chance to make my move, suddenly the guards left the door I ran to the door trying to be discrete as I took the stairs.

Looking at an ajar door I saw Campos sharing a drink with an older man probably Braga that was my chance to take his fingerprints, after a short while I saw them leaving the room, I sneaked in quietly taking a shot glass in my pocket leaving the room.

As I was leaving I saw the garage door slightly open, I peeked through it to see Dom and Giselle, she was standing behind him, "Are you one of those guys who prefers cars to women?"

He turned to her, "I'm one of those guys who appreciates a fine body regardless of the make"

I was curious as to what sparked Gisele to start a conversation with Dom, I peeked again to see Giselle resting on the hood of a car, "So now that I know your taste in cars tell me, what about your women?" she looked at Dom waiting expectantly.

Dom smiled, "It all starts with the eyes, She's got to have that kind of eyes that can look right through the bullshit to the good in someone" he paused for a moment, "20% angel, 80% devil. down to earth, ain't afraid to get a little engine grease under her fingernails"

Giselle stood up getting close to Dom, "That doesn't sound anything like me"

Dom shook his head, "It ain't"

"But sounds like Hailey, right?" she asked.

I frowned watching Dom waiting for his answer, my heart beating wildly in my chest he nodded, "That's cause it is"

A ghost of a smile was on my lips as Gisele continued asked, "You guys know each other?"

"Shit went down between us, five years ago." He said looking past Giselle as if remembering the day everything between us went to hell.

My hand went instantly to the necklace remembering exactly what happened that day, I didn't want to hear anymore of their conversation, I'm here to do a job and I'm not gonna let get screwed by my feelings again, so I left.

I went to work after that to give them the shot glasses that have both the fingerprints of Campos and Braga, it would take a lot of time but at least we have something.

As I went home that night, I felt like someone was in the house so I got my gun ready moving slowly seeing the kitchen's lights on, I raised my gun until I saw someone sitting at the stool.

I lowered my gun as I knew exactly who it was.
