Again, colored, but not completely. This is a Starspeaker dragonet, Scrollreader! I wanted her to look like Starflight but have the scattered scales of Fatespeaker! So I took the already colored reference of Starflight from the Wiki (cause what's the point of doing all that work if it's just going to look the same anyways?), colored over the eye wrappings then slapped a transparent NightWing head on him and colored the eyes so they are green. Then I added the scattered stars onto his body and there. Starflight transformed into Scrollreader! I'm sorry I've only been doing references, but I started thinking, "why should I draw non-main OCs who are also pure bred when I could just use the references?" Plus, I can't do art when I'm not in the "mood" so yeah. If I'm still feeling uninspired, I might do a reference of Nightshade. Idk though... we'll see.
The stone beneath Shadowscale's talons where surprisingly cold, despite this spot being at an angle where it should have received full sun from dawn to now, the afternoon.
"Oh wow!" Peregrine marveled when his talons touched the ground. "Why so cold?"
"Perhaps it had something to do with the group of IceWings who where here mere minutes before we came close?" Nightshade offered as she was last to touch down. She turned to them with her emotionless dark violet orbs, her mind only a light hum that has never relented her innermost secrets to the mind-reader for as long as he's known her.
"What? I didn't see any IceWings." Peregrine replied skeptically. Shadowscale was in agreement with his friend, though he wasn't paying as much attention as she, so he didn't voice his opinions. Her mind and face relieved nothing still, it was always a mystery to the prince, until he brought it up one day with Moonwatcher.
"Does she wear any jewelry? Anything made from a black stone?" She had asked.
"She has a necklace, a leather strap with a curved obsidian dagger attached to it. A real dagger though. Not a jewel shaped like one." He replied.
"It might be Skyfire, ask if you can look at it or touch it, if your mind feels closed off to everyone, the that should prove that it is."
And the next day, he did just that. He grabbed her necklace and the feeling was just as Moonwatcher described. Eerie silence, almost maddening, the chatter he was used to hearing was gone, leaving emptiness. It was truly unnerving and he quickly handed it back as he wondered, is that how a normal dragon's mind feels like? But ever since, it made since why he could never hear her, only sense her presence. It was because it wasn't an obsidian dagger she carried around her neck, but a perfectly shaped Skyfire dagger.
"You couldn't see them, unless you knew how to look." She replied, ripping the prince from his thoughts as she continued. "Their scales reflected the sun, glittering blindingly. I hate the sun... to bright..."
Peregrine and Shadowscale turned to her with surprise written all over their faces.
"But... I thought RainWings liked the sun..." Peregrine muttered, glancing towards the prince as if hoping for a confirmation. Shadowscale nodded slightly, indicating that he was correct.
"Most do." She said, her scales flashing with irritated orange, she didn't bother trying to blot it out. "But I hate it. I prefer darkness and shadows."
"Come on, we should push on..." Shadowscale said, staring at the entrance of the academy with a feeling of unease. What did that SandWing want? Why did she lead me here? He shook himself from these thoughts and started forward, his two companions following.
"You know, I wanted to come here. Jade Mountain Academy I mean. Instead, my parents signed me up for training..." Peregrine huffed, then grumbled some choice words about his parents under his breath, but Shadowscale heard it all.
