Takagi: Start Again

Part Five:

'I couldn't believe what I just heard. What does she mean by she wants Chi? She quickly broke the silence.'
"I understand it's a strange request and I'll try to explain it the best I can."
'Wild thoughts still crossed my mind, what could she ever want with my daughter? She once again spoke.'
"You see Takagi, Chi, the daughter you adopted a few years ago is actually my daughter!"
'My heart began to pump faster. She can't be serious. No! She lying. This is all so she can have my child! What a weirdo!'
'Before I could talk and tell her she was lying, she pulled out a form. It was a birth certificate signed with her signature and Chi's birth date and such.'
"As you can see Takagi, she is my daughter. Give her back to me!"
'Takagi stood there wondering. Takagi had Chi's birth certificate, if this was a fake it was done well. But even if she was the mother of Chi, she did not deserve her. She gave Chi away knowing someone would take her. Finally, I replied.'
"No! Your not taking away MY daughter. She is lawfully mine, and you have her away knowing that someone would take her. And I have a hard time believing you anyway."
'She looked down at the ground and said very calmly: "I understand, I knew you wouldn't take a simple certificate as evidence, and since I have no more evidence I can only offer an answer". 'I replied: "and what would that answer be?"
'She then looked up at me, now with that same grin again. She finally said: "the answer you've wanted for years. What happened to your precious Nishikata."
