You could say that after Bruce left her that she was hurt so much that she ended up hating him altogether and when she found out that she was pregnant with his child that she hated him more. Mainly because he knocked her up and now she had to be a single mom and she didn't know-how and that she was scared to death that she would be like her mom. But she knew at the same time that she would do everything in her power to make sure she wasn't like her mom. That she would be in her child's life no matter what. That she would make sure her child had the best possible life. Not one like her mother.
You could say that when she told Barbara that Barbara was more proud than anything that Selina had the balls to even lose her virginity to the billionaire let alone knock her up. When she told Jim and Lee they were shocked in their eyes Bruce and Selina were still thirteen years old and became awkward whenever the opposite gender was brought into the discussion. And Selina becoming made them realize that they were older now. They had grown and they weren't kids anymore. It was the same with Alfred. He knew that in a way this child was his grandchild. Not biologically but bruce was in a way his son so this made this baby his grandchild. They all promised not to tell bruce and that when he returned if Selina wanted to then she would tell him herself. They just didn't know that it was going to be so long. First Helena was born and then her first steps. Her first birthday. Her first words. Her first day at school. These all passed and so much more before he returned and he missed all of it.
Selina who was now the owner of the sirens club after Barbara gave it to her to keep her on her feet and barbara was already more than capable to find the money. Alfred had offered to give her some of his money but she didn't accept it. She wanted to be able to provide for her daughter without the help of bruce. If he wasn't going to be in her life. Then he wasn't going to be in her daughter's life. Selina was sitting in one of the booths next to barbara who as Barbara Lee and Helena where staying at Jim and Lees that night the girls decided to have a couple of drinks. Of course, Selina didn't have as much as barbara as she still had a bar to run but she did have a few. Selina was talking to Barbara when she feels someone's eyes on her. She turned her head and she saw him. It was her first time seeing him in 10 years and she wasn't happy. How could he just walk into her bar like this? It said her name on the sign for god's sake. He had some nerve. "I need some air" Selina said before getting up and walking out of the bar.
Barbara turns and sees who Selina is looking at. She sees Bruce and her blood starts to boil. She gets up and marches over to him. "What are you doing here," she asks angerly. He sighs. "I need to see Selina," he says calmly. "Well your not seeing her you already caused her a lot of pain the past 10 years and seeing your face here in her bar is not helping so get out," she says. "Listen i just want to see her please i know about my daughter," he says. Barbara stops dead in her tracks. "How do you know" she asks confused about how he did know. Bruce sighs. "I was out in the city running some errands when i saw her and a young girl walking down the street. I heard the girl call her mom and i knew that it was a possibility. I tried to get Alfred to tell me but he wouldn't tell me. So i looked up hospital records and found out that Selina had our daughter 8 months after i left" he says. Barbara knows that there is nothing she can do now. This was Selinas job now. "She's probably up on the roof," she says. Bruce nods before walking to the exit that goes to the roof.
Bruce walks up and sees Selina sitting on the side of the roof. He smiles as he sees her. He was happy that he could see her again. "What are you doing here Bruce. Why come back after 10 years" she says bitterly. He sighs. "It took longer to do what i needed to do then i thought," he says. She doesn't reply. "Selina i know about our daughter," he says. Selina just looks down. "I know," she says. He raises an eyebrow. "How do you know," he asks. She turns to him. "I saw you that day in town. I knew that it wouldn't take long for you to figure out. I would kinda hope so after you being gone for so long doing your training" she says. He walks closer to her. "I want to be apart of her life. She hasn't had a father in her life and i want to be here" he says. Selina scoffs. "You haven't been in her life since she was born and she is happy with me," she says. "Oh, so she hasn't asked where her father is or where is he," Bruce says walking closer to her. They were now so close to each other that their noses were touching. "I want to be there for her... and if you let me... you," he says. Selina can't take it anymore and she kisses him. She hated that she was vulnerable but she couldn't help it. He was like a drug. They pull away and Selina just looks down. "Just promise me you won't leave us," she asks. Bruce sighs before putting his finger under her chin and lifting it. "I will never leave you ever again," he says. She smiles before kissing him again.
Bruce stayed the night at Selina and you could say they were caught up well. (If you dont get what I'm hinting at i will tell you. THEY HAD SEX) Selina had gone to get Helena and he was just sitting with a cup of coffee waiting for her to get home. He was nervous he was meeting his child. He wanted to be a good father. As his father was to him. He wanted to be there for his daughter all the time. Yes, he knows it wasn't his parent's fault what happened to them but he was going to try his bed to make sure something like that doesn't happen again. He hears the door open and he just sits there. "Now i know this is going to be hard ok. I know it was hard for me to" he hears Selina say. He chuckles a little remembering what happened last night between them. He hears footsteps and he turns and sees a girl next to Selina. "Kitten this is your father," Selina tells their daughter. She looks him up and down before walking over to him. "So mom tells me you promised not to leave us again. Is that true" she asks. Bruce nods his head. "I'm never leaving Gotham again," he says. She nods her head. She hugs bruce and bruce is taken aback but then hugs her. "Then i guess i could give you a chance," she says. Bruce chuckles before kissing her head. Selina looks at them and smiles. Bruce looks and her and puts his arm out to her. She grabs it and he pulls her into the hug. This was their new beginning and he planned not to ever mess it up again.
