"Bro," Cameron huffed, sliding down the lockers as Mrs. Davis left to get the nurse.

"How's that feel?" I asked, half laughing. "You don't look great, man."

"That was straight up not fun," He sighed, putting his head on my shoulder.

"Understandably," I replied, looking to the side to see him. He looked pretty happy for someone who just got the shit beat out of him.

"Bro..." He whispered. "Bro.. We're having a broment."

"Yeah, we are," I giggled, "That's pretty good."

"I know,"

I giggled more, "You know?"

"Yeah, I'm funny," He whispered, wiping some blood from under his nose with his sleeve.

"That's going to stain, you know." I took his hand from his face and replaced it with my own, wiping the blood from his face carefully, trying not to hurt him.

"Oh, well."

"You're crazy," I half-smiled, rolling my eyes.

"If anything, you're the crazy one. That was an expensive sweatshirt," He retorted.

"You think I care more about a sweatshirt than my best friend?" I scoffed dramatically. "I'm hurt."

"Good," Cameron responded in a low, strange voice.

I chuckled, pulling my hand away gently. "You're so weird."

He pulled my hand back up to his cheek, leaving it there. My face burned. I could almost see how red I was. "No, you."

"Hmm.." I hummed, looking into his eyes adoringly. "That's a little gay, Cam."

"Oh?" He rubbed his cheek against my hand. "No homo, then."

Cameron leaned closer, connecting our lips in a soft kiss. I squeaked quietly, melting into it and massaging his cheek with my hand. He took my other hand, placing it on his hip and putting his hands in my hair. I felt his hip with my thumb, pulling away from him.

"Wow," I breathed. He nodded in response, wrapping his arms around me tightly and holding me close. I gulped, quietly returning the embrace. He began shaking a little. I laced my fingers in his hair and I hushed him softly. "What's wrong?"

"I've wanted to d-do that for almost three years," He whispered. I nodded, slowly understanding.

"Me too."

He pulled away swiftly, taking hold of my hands. "Really?"

"I wanted to treat you right," I gushed, "I saw how all those boys treated you and, God, I just wanted to hold onto you tight and comfort you. Make you happy as hell," I continued, tears sliding down my cheeks. "I wanted to protect you so bad. So effing bad. You're just like this angelic ass being, and I would effing worship you, dude."

Cam's face was bright red, and he was attempting to hide his face in his hands. "Well," He began, voice trailing off.

I took his hands away from his face, kissing them lightly. "What?"

"I.. I don't know... I probably shouldn't tell you. I don't want to ruin everything because I think you're g-"

"You can tell me, Cam."

He winced subtly, but I could tell. "I'm uh.." He stammered. I continued kissing his hands, going up his arms and wrapping one of his arms around me, kissing his cheek. "I'm.. I'm... Non-bro-nary," He did finger guns at me.

"What?"

"Non-binary," He blushed, "God, that was stupid, I'm sorry."

"No, like, what does that mean?" I asked.

Cam glanced into my eyes, eyes darting back to the floor quickly. "Um... It means, like, I'm not a girl or a boy--or at least I don't want to be."

"Oh," I looked at him calmly. It wasn't too big of a deal, I could tell by the way he dressed and by the way he acted that he was kind of feminine and masculine at the same time. "Who else knows?"

"...Just you."

"Okay," I kissed his cheek again. "Is there anything else you want me to call you? Like, name or pronoun-wise?"

"Um... I kind of liked the name.. Taylor."

"Taylor," It seemed to roll off my tongue. "I like it."

"Could you use they? Like, to refer to me?" Taylor asked.

"Of course," I breathed, gazing into their eyes. "I love you."

"Luc, we're in mid-" They began, chuckling.

"I know."

"You know?"

"I love you so much, Taylor," I sighed out dreamily.

"I love you too, Lucas."

"You know what we have?" I asked, smirking.

"...Bromance?" They responded quietly.

"Exactly," I nuzzled into their neck. "Wanna skip?"

"Anything for you," They whispered, taking my hand in theirs and skipping out of the locker room.
