Joe POV
We have been in the station for about 3 hours now. Alissa and Steven were standing in the corner of the room. Alissa was in Steven's arms, crying into the crook of neck. Steven was whispering comforting things into her ear.
"Joe.",I heard my dad say from behind me. I turn my head and watched him walked to my side.
"Yeah dad.",I said.
"At first Steven wasn't my favorite out of her boyfriends, but now he his.",He said.
"How?",I asked.
Alissa had date several people. She dated David Caver a straight A student her age that was put in college early, George Bicker a basketball player who could go pro. That's a few of them, and then there's Steven who has been arrested several times, hooked up with half the town, does drugs, did under age drinking (but now he's old enough), and he has the chance of breaking her heart.
"Because Joe look it's almost 1:00 am and he's still here even though she could cry to you, he has been holding her in his arms for over 3 hours...he's really there for all day,everyday.",He said.
Maybe my dad was right maybe his is the best choice for her. Even though he does things I don't want my sister getting into. And he has his flaws but everybody does. I know Steven would stand up for Alissa weather it was someone calling her bitch,to some hurting her even though he might get his ass kicked from doing it. He was someone I could trust to keep her safe.
"Your right.",I said.
He patted my back.
"Well I have to get back to work.",He said and walked off.
I looked over at Steven and Alissa. Alissa whispered something to Steven, he kissed her forehead and she walked off towards the bathroom. I walked over to Steven.
"I won't bother ya'll anymore.",I said.
"So this means you finally accepted me dating your sister.",Steven asked.
"Yeah but I will still kick your ass if you break her heart.",I said.
He grinned.
"I expected that, and anyways she would be the one to break my heart.",Steven said.
"Let's keep it that way.",I said.
"Like it was gonna change.",He said.
