I was walking next to my landspeeder, pulling it along with my uninjured hand, and the Mandalorian had ditched his Blurrg, since it didn't really fit the current terrain. We were walking through a deep crevice, opting for the path through them rather going over them for better cover and so it would be harder for people to track us. The child was floating along in its cradle, which was now programmed to follow Mando, which was very useful.

I suddenly felt something wrong, a sense of danger. Stopping in my tracks to listen around me, I looked over to Mando. He too had stopped and gave me a nod that said to cover him, as he passed the child to me and cautiously took some steps forward. I closed the child's crib and put it behind me and in a corner in the ridge, pulling out my lasersword in case of action.

Suddenly a Trandoshan, clearly a bounty hunter, jumped off a ridge and tackled Mando, knocking the blaster out of his hand. I stepped forward to help Mando, but another one came out of hiding, hurrying towards me with its blaster out. It dodged my lasersword once, but I swiftly cut it down. Suddenly I found myself facing yet another one that seemed to appear out of nowhere. Taking me by surprise, it managed to stab the blunt end of his axe into my blaster wound from earlier, causing me to cry out in pain, seeing white.

I fell to my knees, unable to think or do anything as I waited desperately for the pain to subside. I heard the Mandalorian take out the rest of the Trandoshans as if from a great distance as the agony consumed me.

Several unbelievably long moments passed, and I was able to open my eyes, which I hadn't realized were clenched shut. The Mandalorian stood over me, stature unreadable. "We need to take care of that." He said finally, reaching down to help me up. This time I took his hand, no longer being able to feign strength. I could barely walk on my own.

"I'm fine." I told him, wishing I could back that up.

"You're of no use in this condition, you'll just get yourself killed. Sit." He pointed at a rock.

I sighed deeply and took a seat, knowing he was right. He rifled through my speeder's compartments for medical supplies, which he quickly found, as well as a flask that contained the strongest distillate I could find at my last starport. He handed me the flask and I gave him a grateful nod as I took a long gulp, thanking the stars I always kept one nearby.

"I can do it." I said, holding out my hand for the small round disinfecting tool. He ignored me and took out some bandages to use. My wound was too large for the small field cauterizer I had, so all we could do was disinfect and wrap it. "Let me do it." I repeated, annoyed at his silence.

Again, he ignored me. He kneeled on the ground in front of me so he could cut my sleeve above the wound to properly see it. He then held the disinfecting tool above my wound, turning it on to apply it, making me grit my teeth as I felt it searing into my wound. I couldn't help but let out a yelp of pain and surprise, throwing my head back and biting my lip hard as he got to the centre of the wound where I could feel the blaster had seared off my flesh almost to the bone. Soon it was over, and he began to wrap the wound.

I felt myself relax as a majority of the immediate pain was relieved. I watched his intense focus on my arm, surprised at the gentleness with which he treated my wound.

He made a small grunt of approval as he finished bandaging my arm, getting up and returning the supplies where he found them. I took another gulp out of my flask, offering it to him as he turned back around. "I can–you know." I put my hands over my eyes, turning my head away as I held the drink out to him in offering.

He grabbed the flask out of my hand, and for a surprised moment I thought he was taking my offer, but then I heard him screw it shut. "Aw." I gave him a disappointed pout as I looked back at him, seeing him toss the flask into my speeder. "Oh kriff! The kid!" I remembered, getting up and hurrying towards the floating white orb, opening it up so I could check that the child was still alive.
