I stumbled my way to the cockpit as the ship tumbled and rolled, tossing me violently from side to side of the ship. "What the kriff's going on?! I leave you alone for two minutes and now we're being attacked?"
"Shut up and help." Mando said impatiently.
"You want me to disengage the Zelda and make this a two-on-one fight?" I offered him.
"Let's see if it comes to that." He said, maneuvering the ship with a grunt, avoiding some fire from the bounty hunter chasing us.
"Hand over the child, Mando." The man's voice came over the comms. He managed to hit the ship, electricity sparking through the Razor Crest. "I might let you live."
"Hold on." Mando warned, flipping the ship to avoid more fire. The numerous blaring alarms frightened the child, but fortunately he didn't cry or scream like some children might've. "Come on." Mando muttered, maneuvering his ship expertly.
"I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold." The man threatened over the comms. He managed to shoot out our engines, making me curse under my breath. Mando suddenly came to a full stop in the middle of our battle, throwing us forward in our seats.
The bounty hunter hadn't expected this and flew past us before he had realized what Mando had done, allowing Mando to get a lock on him. "That's my line." Mando said coldly before pressing the trigger, blowing the bounty hunter to smithereens.
I clapped for Mando, "badass." I commented with a grin.
"Raden." Mando's warning was clear.
"I know, I know, the engines. I'm on it." I responded, taking my tools with me and hurrying to see what damage control I could do from here until we got ourselves to a spaceport.
"We're losing fuel." Mando told me.
"I can see that." I responded. "Shut it off." Mando shut off all power, drenching us in darkness. "Backup?" I called to him.
"Gimme a minute." He said. I waited silently then, finally, the backup power came online, and I could try to make some repairs on the engines.
I did what I could then made my way back to the cockpit. "Try it now." I told Mando, grinning when it came online. "Aha! Admit it, I'm amazing."
"Of course you are." He replied in a dry tone, directing the ship to a nearby planet.
Setting the ship in a landing bay and putting the napping child in his compartment, Mando and I headed out of the ship, not even making it down the ramp before Mando pulled out his blaster, shooting at some repair droids. "Hey! Hey! You damage one of my droids, you'll pay for it." A woman came running out to defend her droids.
"Just keep them away from my ship." Mando responded.
"Excuse him, he has a thing about droids." I gave the woman a smile.
She gave me a nod but turned to continue scolding Mando. "You think that's a good idea, do ya? Let's look at your ship. Oof! Look at that." She walked around the ship, taking in the extensive damage. "Ugh, you got a lot of carbon scorin' building up top." Mando simply watched as she continued walking around and picking apart the ship. "If I didn't know better, I'd think you were in a shootout. Special tool for that one. I am gonna have to rotate that. You got a fuel leak. Look at that, this is a mess. How did you even land? That's gonna set you back."
"We've got five hundred Imperial Credits." I cringed internally as Mando offered our small amount of money.
"That's all you got? Well, what do you guys think?" She asked her droids sarcastically. "That should at least cover the hangar."
