I stood up and stretched my arms with a small grunt. Taking two steps across the small space to grin at the sleeping child, I rubbed his head gently.

I turned to Mando and draped myself over his armoured lap with a devious grin.

"What are you doing?" He asked, moving his arms around me despite his disapproval.

"Nothing. Just having some fun."

"Here?" He asked incredulously, turning to check on the child.

I shrugged, nudging my head towards the napping green child. "He doesn't mind." I winked at Mando and nuzzled my head in the crook of his neck where there was an absence of beskar. I inhaled his scent slowly, then reached to try to pull away some of the cloth there.

"Oh no." I could almost hear a smile on Mando's face as he stood up with me in his arms and carried me hastily to my room.

It might've been hours since Mando and I made our way stumbling into my room, it might've been days. Honestly, I didn't care in the least. I was enjoying having him too much to care about anything else.

In the dark I trailed my fingertips across his face, light as a feather, trying to memorize every inch of it, trying to imagine how they would fit into a face. Suddenly thinking of something, I decided to break the silence.

"Lori." I smiled at my new nickname for him.

"What?" Mando, now Lori, asked in confusion. I didn't blame him for being lost, I didn't give him any context.

"Lori. It's my new name for you. I don't like that I call you the same thing as anyone else does, so I thought I'd come up with a new nickname so I could have something for me. Do you like it?" I peered curiously at Mando out of instinct, even though I could barely make anything out in the absence of light.

"Din." He said. Now it was my turn.

"What?"

"Din Djarin. That's my name." He elaborated.

My chest felt heavy, and I sat up in bed. This meant so much. I didn't know if anyone else knew his name.

Finally, he turned to face me. All I could make out was a vague outline and the glint of his eyes.

"Din." I rolled the name around in my mouth, liking the way it felt there. It felt right. "Thank you for giving me that." I traced the side of his face with my fingers, cherishing these moments when I could touch his skin.

"Don't thank me for things you should already have." He responded gruffly. I could feel the frustration radiating off him, and I just wanted to make it go away.

Leaning closer, I pressed my lips to his in a soft kiss, then deepened it, tangling my hands in his hair as I kissed him. I could feel his arms circling around my waist, pulling me closer to him, his fingers pressing firmly against my hips.

I moved my hands through his hair, to his back, his chest, his arms. I knew how much he yearned just for a human touch, and these free moments where we could just be with each other were so rare.

Eventually, whether we wanted to or not, we had to go back to the cockpit to check on the child and the ship. When we entered, I lifted the child in my arms, letting him chirp happily as I sat with him in my lap.

"We there yet?" I asked Mand–Din cheerfully.

"Yes." Din deployed the landing gear as we entered a hangar. We had gotten an offer for a job from Din's old crew that he used to work with.
