As the pots came crashing down in the kitchen as it echoes throughout the manor. A maid rushed over as she picked up the fallen pots before a nervous boy in a formal suit, not knowing what to do in this kind of situation.
"You have to be careful master Jack" the maid sighed as she set the pots onto the table. Jack only looked down in shame as he walked away from the kitchen and into his quarters upstairs. Kyra only looked at the situation from afar as she approached the maid who was reorganizing the pots back into their shelves.
"How'd he do?" Kyra asked curiously, ever since she brought Jack home, he'd been undergoing training as a servant because of what she told Orias and Baxon that day. Although he's going to be working as part of staff, he will still be treated as a guest of the household when nobody's around.
"His posture is wrong, his form and technique are all over the place, this may take a while mistress." The maid responded as she leaned her back against the cupboard while looking at the stairway. "I don't think this will work at all mistress, he can't cook, he can't clean, he's able to do tiny chores at best, like bring a few things here and there, and he even tripped and fell." As she rubbed her head.
"I'll go talk to him." As she walked towards upstairs and into Jack's room. As she opened the door, she saw his work uniform on the floor with Jack sobbing uncontrollably under the bed covers.
"Jack? Are you ok?" she called out to him, as he heard her voice, he stopped sobbing and shaking. She approached and sat on his bed beside him and removed the blanket sheets as a boy, red teary eyed, sat up facing her.
"Leave me alone Kyra.." Jack said as he looked down at the bed sheets. "I'm useless... I can't do anything right in this place. You're wasting your time...just throw me out so you don't waste your time, resources and energy for me..I can survive on the streets." He said with sadness in his voice.
"No you're not useless, you just need tim--"
"Yes I am, and you know it!" Jack shouted at her. Suddenly, the room began to slowly turn dark as Jack emitted the same ominous aura before during their encounter with Baxon. "Stop trying to make me feel better, deep down I know I'm just a waste of space. You took the time to save me from the streets, but I can't do anything to repay you back for what you did! I'm hopeless, a clump of useless living flesh. I should've died out there long ago!" At this point he was crying, but Kyra only kept a calm face towards his outburst and let him continue.
(To any of you that has ever felt like this, if you ever feel worthless, hopeless, know that there are people around you that love and support you, though this feeling may not go away easily, but at least have a companion or family to help you cope through with this. Stay strong!)
"I-Is this..." He began. "Is this why they left me? Did my parents, whoever they were, know I was weak and left me to die from the beginning?" Suddenly, Kyra just went and hugged him, tears running Jack's face as he felt her embrace.
"Listen, you're not useless, you're not hopeless. Everyone deserves a chance at life, including you." She said as she slowly patted his head. "Drown out all the noise from the outside, and listen to your heart on the inside and hear what it wants. Everyone starts off not knowing anything at all, kinda like a newborn child, including me. I wasn't born an avatar, I was trained to be one. Let your demons be with other demons, don't let it conquer you or else..you might end up like a few people... So please, don't give up on anything yet, we're just getting started."
As Jack listened to her, tears still streaming down, he quickly hugged her back sobbing as the once dark room had slowly began to return to it's original state. Kyra only smiled at him, the kind of smile a mother would give to her child, like a family would give to another. Jack noticed this and looked up to her. He felt a warm feeling in his heart, was it love he felt? All he knew, he had never felt anything like this before in his lifetime. He spoke up to her, voice trembling
