It's been around five years, ever since I moved in with Munakata.
The despair incident has long ago been forgotten even by those who claim they have abilities that are, 'Super High School Level' grade.
Enoshima Junko has long since been regarded as a myth, a legend...
But to those who have experienced her games, she lives on as a terror waiting to pounce amidst the shadows enclosing their peaceful days.Even so, everyone lives on - the normal lives of a highschooler, the work-filled life of adults, and in the end, the joy-inducing life of a family...
Not just them, but many of the people related to the incident, have long since gotten married, and had their own family to welcome them home.Of course, we were invited to attend their wedding ceremonies...
But we didn't exactly attend, because of work matters. That, indeed, was a shame, because we rarely meet the others unless there were events such as these. Now that I think of it, it wasn't just a few that had gotten married, but quite a majority of them...
It makes me think, when would my turn be?
Not that I actually expect anything from Munakata, but...
The thought lingers, a small sliver of hope, you could say.
For now, I guess I should stop thinking too much and focus on what we have in the present.Holding onto the small handle of the coffee drainer, I slowly poured the hot, boiling water onto it.
Slowly, drops of filtered coffee dripped onto the cup set beneath it - Munakata had always said that it was a fun thing to race against - perhaps a game of chess, or just some peaceful reading whilst waiting for the coffee's final drop.
There was just something about the concept of time that he seemed to like... something that made him feel at ease to know.
Of course, that is the same for me myself... I, too, like the concept of time...To think of the amount of time that passed since the first time I've met him, then the time of the Game of Despair, and finally, the time when I moved in - and how happily he had welcomed me... I wouldn't have expected all those would finally lead to a happy ending.
Or perhaps, it is merely paving a way for another path into the future.
The past, never forgotten, had borne a scar onto our minds.
A pain to never repeat, a silent oath to never again fall into the hands of Despair.Drip.
The sound of yet again another drop of coffee, fallen onto the slowly-filled cup below, shattering the silence as the dark liquid rippled - a reflection of myself.
I, Sakakura Juuzou, the man who escaped Despair.
I, Sakakura Juuzou, the man who lived through Despair -I, Sakakura Juuzou, who loves Munakata Kyousuke, and will continue to love him for times to come.
Click.
The turn of a doorknob, the familiar sound of footsteps - the clack of shoes being set into place onto the wooden rack, neat and tidy beside all the other pairs.
The shuffle of a suit being taken off and set upon a coat hanger.
The scent of coffee permeating into the room brought a smile to his face."I'm home."
Munakata Kyousuke, sporting a soft, gentle smile.. gazed onto his beloved affectionately.
"You made coffee... That's rare, I thought you'd usually go for tea. Wasn't I the coffee person in the relationship we have, hmm?" went further his words, to question me.
A slight heat crept up my cheeks - caught in the act, I felt embarrassed."I brewed this for you, not for me.. I figured you might appreciate a kind act from me like this now and then," I muttered in slight embarassment whilst his eyebrows raised in amusement, before he went over and embraced me ever-so-lovingly with his arms.
Ah.. In that warm embrace of ours, its as if time had stopped and refused to move onwards. Its as if the world had stopped revolving and only we were aware of what was happening, whilst all remained frozen and still.
How I wish we could be together forever, Munakata.
"That's much appreciated. You're very considerate.. I guess I, too, have to do something in return."
Such a response quickly made me curious.
What is it that he had planned out now?
I could never figure out what is in that mind of his. It was an enigma - something I could not comprehend, yet my curiosity draws me closer, closer, and closer...
