I was still shaking, though lightly, when Zayden made me sit in his car.

"Call me when you reach home Sia. Take your meds properly and please sleep the day off.", Eliana said before kissing my forehead and closing the door.

Zayden got in the driver seat and I could hear Eliana saying something to him.

"Her mom shouldn't know about all this so if she's at home, don't say anything. If she sleeps by the time you get to her house, the key is in the back pocket of her bag. Lock the house and bring back the key to me. Also, just put her on the couch if she's asleep. She wouldn't like you getting to her room."

I looked down, not even being able to smile at her sweet gesture.

Zayden nodded and drove out of the parking slowly.

Eliana wanted to come with us too but she has her class test today and she can't leave that.

I held on to my shoulders tightly as my body was still shivering a little. I was feeling better, but still a little cold.

"You're cold?", Zayden asked and I shaked ny head.

The rest of the drive was silent. We reached my house half an hour later and thankfully mom wasn't home. I opened the door and went in slowly. Zayden walked behind me, making sure that I don't faint halfway.

I sat on the couch and felt a blanket on me. I looked up to see Zayden covering me with the blanket kept on the sofa.

"You better?", be asked and I nodded lightly.

He sat down beside me and checked my forehead for fever. He then sat awkwardly while looking at my face.

"You hungry? You didn't even have your lunch.", he said again and as if on cue my stomach growled.

"There must be something in the fridge. You should eat too."

I got up and wrapped the blanket tightly around myself. I took slow steps towards the kitchen while Zayden followed me quitely.

I took out the plate which was full of sandwiches probably for dinner. That means mom wasn't coming home early tonight. Again.

"Let's eat this.", I said as I looked at him and he nodded as he sat beside me on the kitchen counter.

"You sure you're fine?", he asked for the fiftieth time since he saw me there, shivering to my death.

I looked at him with sad eyes and my mouth full of food.

"Can you please not tell anyone?"

His eyebrows furrowed and then relaxed. He nodded understandingly and I smiled softly.

"You can't tell a single soul Zayden. Words go around fast here and I don't want to get into deeper shit."

He nodded and sat awkwardly after he took the last bite of his sandwich too.

"I won't tell anyone. I promise.", he said and squeezed my shoulder before looking away from me.

I feel so vulnerable right now. Like I've never felt this way before. I have been sad and I have been angry but this is different.

The other times when any of this happened, I had Kiara and Eliana. I know they wouldn't judge me, I knew I was safe.

But Zayden? I wasn't even sure what will happen when I saw him running towards me in the corridor. I didn't think he would be so understanding towards my condition.

And I'm so thankful that he proved me wrong. For the first time.

"I should go now. School's still on..."
