Chapter 16: The Pool

Y/n: We only have a month left and I really don't want to leave
Josh: I know and I don't either but we still have some time to spend with everyone before we leave and even if we do stay here we'll have to go pack everything back home
Y/n: Yeah you're right but how about we all go to the pool
Payton: Let's do it
Dylan: Is love to but mom said I need to be heading back to the airport to catch a flight she just bought for me
Josh: Go ahead. We'll see you in a month
Y/n: Bye Dyl
Dylan: Bye guys. Hey Payton take care of her
Payton: I will Dylan
Dylan: Good
He leaves and we all go get ready to go to the pool. I walk out and see Paige waiting for me.
Paige: Wow Y/n
Y/n: Too much?
Paige: Not at all. You look gorgeous

We walked outside and I see Payton staring at me. I look over at Paige and see her walking over to Josh.

Paige: Josh is that my scrunchie?
Josh: Yeah
Paige: I'm not getting that back am I?
Josh: Not a chance

Paige rolls her eyes and I look back at Payton who is still staring at me.

Payton: ....
Y/n: PAYT
Payton: .....

Payton jumps and looks up at my face.
Payton: What?
Y/n: *giggles* You okay?
Payton: Yeah......Let's swim!
Ev: *laughs*
Josh: You sure you're okay Payton?
Payton: Yep I'm fine
Josh: Okay so you can stop staring at my sister
Payton: Huh?
Josh: You heard me
Payton: Sorry
Josh: I'm kidding Payton
Payton: Oh okay
Josh: Or am I?
Y/n: Josh!
Josh: I'm kidding I'm kidding
Y/n: Good. Now come on

We all jump in and swim for around 30 minutes when I hear something in the bushes. I keep quiet and don't mention but then it gets louder.

Y/n: Payton come here
Payton: What's wrong?
Y/n: What makes you think something's wrong?
Payton: Y/n I know you. I can tell when you're uneasy about something
Y/n: Ok fine. I keep hearing something in the bushes over there
Payton: I thought I was the only one who heard it
Y/n: I thought no one else could hear it because no one said anything so I just assumed it was nothing
Payton: Same here but we should probably tell Paige and Josh
Y/n: Yeah you're right
Josh: You guys okay?
Payton: Yeah we're fine
Y/n: Both if you come over here for a minute
They swim over to us and I look back at the bushes to make sure no one's there
Paige: Is there a problem?
Y/n: Well we noticed that there's a lot of noise coming from the bushes over there and a few times I heard something that sounded like someone giving directions like from outside of the fence
Josh: Y/n the fence is 6 foot, if someone was in here we would've seen them
Paige: Unless they jumped the fence while we were all inside
Y/n: See?
Josh: Alright fine. Everyone grab a towel, we're going back inside

We all grab our towels and walk back into the house. Payton keeps me close to him the entire time. I keep thinking about what that sound could've been. I snap out of my thoughts to see Paige trying to get my attention.

Paige: Y/n. Earth to Y/n
Y/n: Huh?
Paige: Let's go to our room to get something else to put on
Y/n: Oh ok
Payton: You okay babygirl?
Y/n: What? Yeah I'm fine
Payton: You sure?
Y/n: Yeah I was just thinking about what happened
Payton: Ok let me know if you need me
Y/n: I will
Me and Paige walk upstairs and change into some more comfortable clothes.
Paige: What do you think the sound was?
Y/n: Not sure. Actually
Paige: Actually what?
Y/n: What happened to Jackson and Anthony?
Paige: I think they ran off when everyone started freaking out over Dylan
Y/n: What if it's them
Paige: Could he but as long as we keep the door and windows locked we'll be fine
Suddenly the lights cut out
Paige: Payton Josh this isn't funny cut it out
Y/n: Guys?
Payton: Y/n!?
Y/n: Payton!?
Paige: What's going on?
Payton: I don't know
Paige: Wait
Y/n: Where's Josh?
Josh: Guys!?
Y/n: Josh what's going on!?
Josh: I saw Anthony outside. He must've cut the power
Payton: Why won't he give up?
Josh: Not sure. Unless
Payton: Jackson!
Y/n: Wait what?
Payton: Jackson has been acting weird ever since we started dating. He hated when I was around you and would constantly flirt with you when you came here last year
Y/n: He was flirting with me?
Paige: Yes Y/n you're oblivious to everything remember?
Y/n: Yeah yeah
Josh: You don't think Jackson is actually behind all of this do you?
Payton: He could be
Y/n: Well can we stop worrying about Jackson and deal with the actual problem at the moment? We can deal with Jackson later.
Payton: She's right
Y/n: Yeah plus if it is Jackson behind this we can deal with him quickly. He obviously doesn't have the heart to do it since he's constantly using Anthony to do the job for him.
Josh: Well then let's go deal with Anthony and then we'll worry about Jackson. Y/n, stay right here, we won't be far but we need you to stay inside.
Y/n: Are you sure?
Josh: Yes I don't need you getting hurt. If something happens to you neither one of us will be allowed to come back
Y/n: Yeah you're right
Josh: I know I am now stay here. Payton, Paige let's go
Paige: What about-
Josh: Stay behind us we'll protect you
Y/n: Love you guys
Ev: Love you too
